With season three's surprising ending, some roles remain uncertain, including Hamm's Paul Marks. (Spoiler alert!) The finale saw Aniston's Alex Bradley orchestrate an eleventh-hour coup, outsmarting her love interest Paul, who was attempting to acquire the network through illegal means. The tech billionaire, inspired by the likes of Elon Musk, was sidelined by the merger, leading to a heartbreaking breakup.

Speaking recently to The Hollywood Reporter, returning showrunner and executive producer Charlotte Stoudt teased that new characters would be joining the Emmy-winning series as season four ushers "The Morning Show" (known as "TMS" within the show's narrative) into a new era. Following the finale's revelation of UBA merging with a rival news brand, Stoudt revealed that "because there was a merger, there are new characters." Witherspoon, whose character Bradley Jackson now faces possible felony charges, went a step further, hinting that the new additions would bring "fun" and "challenging" perspectives to the mix.

Could Cotillard's character be one of these intriguing new additions? Whether she aligns with the truth-tellers of TMS or stands on the opposing side, her inclusion in the cast is undoubtedly a casting coup.

On the small screen, Cotillard was last seen in Apple TV+'s climate change anthology "Extrapolations." The acclaimed actress has a storied history on the big screen, starring in notable films such as Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne's "Two Days, One Night," Jacques Audiard's "Rust and Bone," Nicole Garcia's "From the Land of the Moon," Robert Zemeckis' "Allied," James Grey's "The Immigrant," Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Inception," Steven Soderbergh's "Contagion," Rob Marshall's "Nine," Michael Mann's "Public Enemies," Ridley Scott's "A Good Year," and Tim Burton's "Big Fish."

In 2008, Cotillard made Oscar history as the second French actress to win the Academy Award for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in "La Vie En Rose." Recently, she starred in Mona Achache's docudrama "Little Girl Blue." Represented by Agence Adequat in France and CAA and Narrative in the US, Cotillard's addition to "The Morning Show" promises to elevate the series to new heights.
