TrustNordisk's eagerly anticipated creature feature, "Kraken," inspired by the formidable sea beast from Nordic folklore, secured two significant distribution deals on the opening day of the Berlin European Film Market. This Norwegian-language action epic, acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films for North America and Gussi for Latin America, promises a thrilling ride.

Helmed byNorwegian filmmaker Pål Øie, renowned for his action-thriller "Tunnel" and horror film "Hidden," "Kraken" narrates the tale of a marine biologist who encounters a series of perplexing phenomena during her research in a fjord, including the brutal demises of two local teenagers. The film's synopsis paints a vivid picture: "At the bottom of Norway's deepest fjord lies a mythical monster, as vast as a mountain, with countless arms ready to crush and devour anything within its grasp."

The screenplay, penned by Vilde Eide, with cinematography and editing by Sjur Aarthun, captures the essence of Norway's coastline, where the film was shot last year.
