The script-to-screen masterpiece from writer-director Eddie Mensore has secured a theatrical release date of January 10, 2025, across the US, Canada, the UK, and beyond, thanks to the acquisition by Emphatic Pictures and RBL Films. The ensemble cast is further enriched by the presence of Steven Ogg and Dave Davis, as they delve into the heart of Kentucky's Appalachian mining town of Hazard, where the ongoing opioid epidemic casts a dark shadow.

'Hazard' is a harrowing tale that revolves around Will (portrayed by Roe), a reluctant yet pragmatic drug dealer, grappling with the dual challenges of salvaging his opioid-ravaged family while battling his own demons amidst the struggle for survival. In a poignant moment from the trailer, Roe's Will implores his partner Sara (Bacon), "Leave Hazard forever with me," revealing his discontent with the mining life, adding, "Mining ain't for me." Bacon's Sara, concerned about their financial stability, questions anxiously, "You really got 10,000 saved?"

Mensore not only penned and helmed this emotionally charged narrative but also produced it, with Roe and Bacon lending their expertise as producers. This collaborative effort ensures that 'Hazard' is a labor of love that resonates deeply.

Set to premiere on October 18, 2024, at the Woodstock Film Festival, 'Hazard' promises to be a standout event. The film's soundtrack, curated by executive producer Gill Holland's sonaBLAST! Records, will enhance the cinematic experience, immersing viewers in the haunting atmosphere of Hazard.

Bacon's star continues to rise following her breakthrough performance in Parker Finn's horror sensation 'Smile,' released by Paramount Pictures in September 2022. With a rich television portfolio that includes roles in 'Scream,' '13 Reasons Why,' 'Narcos: Mexico,' 'Mare of Easttown,' and 'As We See It,' she brings a depth and nuance to her character that is unparalleled.

Roe, too, has an impressive resume, featuring in horror hit 'Rings' (2017) and the heartwarming romance 'Forever My Girl' (2018), opposite Jessica Rothe. His television credits include portraying Pat Garrett in the MGM+ series 'Billy the Kid' and starring in Freeform's 'Siren.'

Mensore's directorial prowess is further evidenced by his 2019 feature 'Mine 9,' which delved into the harrowing tale of trapped Appalachian miners, showcasing his talent for crafting emotionally resonant and socially relevant stories.

'Hazard' is poised to be a game-changer, a poignant reminder of the human toll of addiction and the resilience of the human spirit amidst adversity.
