"Star Wars: Skeleton Crew," the latest addition to the saga unfolding in a galaxy far, far away, has made a thrilling leap, arriving on Disney+ a day sooner than anticipated. This eight-episode adventure, helmed by Jude Law, will unveil its first two chapters on December 2nd at 6 p.m. PT, setting the stage for a Tuesday evening rollout of subsequent installments throughout the season. The announcement arrived hand-in-hand with breathtaking new artwork that captures the essence of the series.
The official synopsis paints a vivid picture: "Skeleton Crew" chronicles the heart-pounding voyage of four youthful explorers who stumble upon a mysterious discovery on their seemingly serene home planet, only to find themselves stranded in an alien and perilous galaxy. Navigating their way back home, encountering unexpected allies and adversaries, will prove to be an adventure far surpassing their wildest dreams.
Law stars as Jod Na Nawood, a Force-wielder who may or may not be a Jedi. In a recent cover story for Variety, Law revealed that working on "Skeleton Crew" was an "intriguingly complex endeavor." "It's a technical maze to perfect the blend of animatronics, puppets, machines, and the vast, intricate worlds they inhabit," he elaborated. "I'm the type who yearns to pull back the curtain and see the wizard's tricks."
Rounding out the stellar cast are Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost. Directing duties are shared by an impressive lineup including Jon Watts, David Lowery, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.
At the helm of the creative forces, Watts and Christopher Ford serve as head writers and executive producers, alongside Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Chris Buongiorno, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck take up the role of co-executive producers, with Susan McNamara and John Bartnicki also lending their producing prowess to this galactic endeavor.
