The star of the iconic "My Best Friend's Wedding" has been tapped to breathe life into the pivotal role of Chief Dom Pascal in the thrilling 13th season of "Chicago Fire." Prior to Mulroney's enchanting portrayal, Dom was painted as a CFD veteran who embarked on his illustrious career there but has since flourished as a seasoned chief in Miami for a decade, renowned for his buoyant spirit and impeccable ability to thrive amidst the heat of the moment.

Dom's leadership approach stands apart from that of the esteemed Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), who, at the conclusion of Season 12, ascended to the position of Deputy Commissioner, leaving behind a leadership vacuum and an unspoken desire for Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) to fill his shoes. However, the NBC drama swiftly pivoted, casting Mulroney as the new chief within a month's time, a move that Eigenberg wisely discerned as logical, considering Herrmann's ineligibility for such a swift promotion.

"It's a leap too far for the character to instantly ascend to chiefdom without plunging us into the depths of television's fantastical realms," Eigenberg astutely remarked to TV Insider during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. "I won't permit it. He must first earn the stripes of a captain and traverse a rigorous path before any such transition can be considered. Perhaps it's in the cards, but the future is uncertain. They could even elevate me to chief only to promptly demote me – time will tell."

Eigenberg, at the time, remained enigmatic about Herrmann's initial sentiments towards Dom, mischievously quipping, "Herrmann's mind is a perpetual whirlwind of ideas and uncertainties, so we'll just have to wait and see how this new dynamic unfolds."

Joining Eigenberg and Mulroney in the smoldering Season 13 of "Chicago Fire" are a stellar ensemble including Taylor Kinney, Miranda Rae Mayo, Joe Miñoso, Christian Stolte, Daniel Kyri, Hanako Greensmith, and Jocelyn Hudon, promising an intense and unforgettable ride for audiences worldwide.
