Kapadia's masterpiece, "All We Imagine As Light," a poignant drama revolving around two Malayali nurses transplanted in the vibrant landscape of Mumbai, explores the intricate tapestry of life, love, and sisterhood.

This marks the first Indian film in three decades to vie in the prestigious main competition at Cannes, a remarkable feat indeed. In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Kapadia turned to face the esteemed jury, which this year boasted esteemed director Greta Gerwig and accomplished actor Lily Gladstone, and said, "It was already a dream come true to be selected for competition, but this moment surpasses even my wildest imagination." She further appealed to the audience, "Please, let's not wait another three decades for an Indian film to make its mark here."
