Jon Stewart sends furious message to pollsters after US election results

During his coverage of the US elections, following Donald Trump's declaration of victory over Kamala Harris, Jon Stewart delivered a stark and unfiltered message to the pollsters. As projections indicated Trump's reelection as president, having swept three crucial battleground states mere hours after polling stations closed, placing him inches away from reclaiming the White House, Stewart brought his election-day edition of 'The Daily Show' to a close at midnight Eastern Time.

In his closing remarks, the comedian utilized the platform to lambast the pollsters who, throughout the campaign, had foreseen a narrow victory for Harris. "The race isn't officially called yet. We're still awaiting the full tally of results. Time is slipping through our fingers, but before we sign off, I must swiftly convey a message to all the election pollsters: 'Go take a leap,'" Stewart said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"I never want to hear from you again, ever. Not even a peep about 'We've adjusted for voter overcorrection in our projections!' You don't know squat about anything, and quite frankly, I don't give a damn about your opinions," Stewart ranted, his frustration palpable.

Despite his evident irritation, Stewart attempted to wrap up the show with a positive, albeit grimly realistic, note. The 61-year-old stated, "Listen up, everyone. Here's the crux of the matter: We know virtually nothing for sure right now. After this election, we'll all be making grand declarations about the state of our country and the world. But the honest truth is, we're all in the dark. We'll treat this election like it's the be-all and end-all of our civilization. But guess what? Tomorrow morning, we'll all have to roll out of bed and work tirelessly to shape the world into the place we desire. And let me just put this into perspective: The lessons our experts will draw from these results, which they'll pronounce with absolute certainty, will undoubtedly be flawed."

Stewart then aired a montage of other erroneous predictions made by politicians and pundits following recent US elections, such as the demise of Trump's political career and the eradication of racism. "My point is simple: Fuck that noise!" Stewart exclaimed. "But this isn't the end. I assure you, it's not the end. We must regroup, keep fighting, and work tirelessly every single day to build a better society for our children and this world."

As of this writing, vote counting continues in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. Trump, addressing his jubilant supporters in Palm Beach, Florida, hailed them as "the greatest political movement in history," asserting that they would "aid in the healing of our nation" and "mend everything that's wrong with our country." Trump's victory, he claimed, ushered in a "golden age for America," and he also boasted of winning the popular vote.
