"I harbor a deep regret for that relationship," Fox confesses, referring to Ye, whom she delicately refers to as "the artist" in her recently released memoir, Down the Drain. "I loathe it! Those fleeting weeks linger like an eternity in my memory. It thrust me into a level of discomfort I've seldom known, and that's saying something. I aspire not to be defined by my status as anyone's girlfriend."

A representative for Ye, who underwent a name change, was unavailable for comment at the time of PEOPLE's inquiry on Saturday.

Fox and Ye's fleeting romance ignited on New Year's Eve 2021 in Miami, only to be confirmed as over by Fox's representative on Valentine's Day the following year. This whirlwind romance surfaced shortly after Ye's separation from his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

"It wasn't my intention for our relationship to become public fodder," Fox laments. "In fact, I advocated for us to keep it under wraps, yet somehow, it was thrust into the spotlight without my consent. I swiftly realized that I was being utilized as a pawn in a game I never wanted to play."

This latest interview echoes sentiments she has previously articulated in Down the Drain, released in October 2023. Within its pages, Fox divulges that "the artist" offered to finance a breast augmentation for her, pressed her to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and even dictated her wardrobe choices, with stylists adhering to his approval.

"My dear son, Valentino, now three, has been my rock throughout," Fox says, fondly referring to her cherished bond with the child she shares with ex-husband Peter Artemiev. "He's been my compass, reminding me that no matter how wealthy or famous, no man is worth sacrificing even a moment away from my little one."

A year has passed since the release of Fox's memoir, which is a poignant journey through her New York City upbringing, her teenage struggle with heroin addiction, her breakthrough role alongside Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, and of course, her tumultuous relationship with "the artist."

Earlier in September, Fox took to Instagram to quash pregnancy rumors, clarifying a behind-the-scenes snap from a film shoot that mistakenly sparked speculations. With a mischievous grin, she revealed, "Omg, it's for a movie! THE BELLY IS NOT REAL!!!"

In an April interview with Variety, Fox opened up about motherhood and her unconventional approach to raising her only son. She believes that shielding children from the spotlight as a celebrity can be detrimental. "I possess this invaluable gift, and I yearn to share it with my son," she shared. "We want him to embrace his 'nepo baby' status and own it fearlessly. He must say, 'Yes, I'm a nepo baby, and so what?'"
