On Thursday, Lil Baby found himself at the center of a whirlwind of rumors that spread with the ferocity of wildfire across social media. Fan accounts buzzed with claims that the rapper had been taken into federal custody, yet no substantial reason or credible source was presented to substantiate these allegations. The gossip escalated to such a frenzy that one of Lil Baby's associates was compelled to step in on Instagram to set the record straight. Subsequently, Lil Baby himself broke his silence, addressing his fans directly with a clear denial of any truth to the custody rumors.

To ease his fans' minds, the rapper jumped onto his Instagram Stories. He reassured them that he was "exceptionally well" and in no way confined behind bars. "Thank you for all your concerns," he penned. "Please refrain from being misled by fabricated news!!." This message echoed the sentiments of Baby's associate, Therealmohawk, who had moments earlier implored fans, "Cease spreading these fake, baseless rumors!" Expressing a tad more frustration than Baby, Therealmohawk lamented the overvaluation of social media clicks, denouncing how "social media entices you to propagate false narratives about individuals."

The roots of the arrest rumor might be traced back to a recent press conference held by the Atlanta Police Department. Major Ralph Woolfolk reflected upon a shooting incident in 2024 that claimed the lives of two teenagers, indirectly implicating Lil Baby. To clarify, Baby was not directly accountable for the teenagers' fate; he was shooting a music video at the time the tragedy unfolded. Instead, Woolfolk and the Atlanta PD deemed the rapper irresponsible for choosing a perilous locale for his video shoot.

"Gang violence orchestrated by adults," Woolfolk elaborated, "and the reckless actions of an Atlanta-based rapper who ventured into a rival gang's territory, knowingly stepping into a dangerous situation." The Major further announced intentions to hold Baby accountable for his part in the May 2024 episode, vowing, "This team will relentlessly pursue justice against you," and offering a $50,000 reward for any additional information. Despite his tarnished reputation with the Atlanta PD, Lil Baby is currently gearing up for the release of his next album, Dominique, originally slated for February.
