O’Donnell elaborated that she stepped foot on Irish soil on January 15th and is actively pursuing Irish citizenship, a path facilitated by her Irish grandparents. "It's been nothing short of magical, I must confess. The people here are overflowing with love, kindness, and warmth. I am deeply appreciative," she added warmly.

"I do miss my other children, my cherished friends, and numerous facets of life back home," O’Donnell continued, her voice tinged with nostalgia. "I'm endeavoring to create a nest for us in this stunning country. And when the time comes when all citizens in America enjoy equal rights, we'll reconsider our return."

The "League of Their Own" star's tone turned poignant as she discussed the political climate. "Witnessing the political upheavals has been heart-wrenching, and personally challenging for me. As we all understand, the personal and political are intricately intertwined," she reflected.

Later in the video, O’Donnell unveiled her motive behind the timing of her announcement. "I sensed we needed to prioritize our well-being, make courageous decisions, and act upon them," she conveyed. "Now, as we're beginning to settle in, I felt it was the right moment to share our journey with everyone."

O’Donnell joins a growing list of celebrities who have ventured beyond the US borders in recent times. Names like Eva Longoria, Ellen DeGeneres, Richard Gere, and others have also chosen to make foreign shores their new home.
