Sabrina Carpenter has surpassed all other artists in 2024 in engaging voters through HeadCount, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to registering young voters. With her "Short n' Sweet" arena tour, she has registered over 27,000 new voters and engaged over 183,000 more through a series of giveaways, in-person activations, and vibrant video boards. This impressive feat was announced ahead of her ongoing tour across the UK, Europe, and North America, where she swiftly sold out 33 arena shows in North America.
The "Espresso" singer's collaboration with HeadCount marked a significant milestone in her journey. As part of this partnership, fans had the chance to win tickets to her "Short n' Sweet" tour by confirming their voter registration status. The lucky winners were flown to San Francisco for her show on November 9, with all expenses covered. Prior to joining the tour, HeadCount and Carpenter worked together to send two fortunate fans to Governor's Ball, resulting in an overnight surge of over 40,000 fans checking their voter registration.
HeadCount also revealed that Green Day's "Saviors Tour" shattered their all-time record for voter engagement during a single tour. With over 7,900 new voters registered and over 61,000 engaged through in-person activations, the tour nearly doubled the previous record set by Ariana Grande's 2019 "Sweetener World Tour."
Lucille Wenegieme, executive director of HeadCount, commented on the organization's record-breaking year. "Through our partnerships with over 100 top music artists, including Sabrina Carpenter, Green Day, Ariana Grande, and many others, HeadCount has registered over 450,000 new voters and engaged over a million more people to ensure they vote," she said. "Our model works because musicians and celebrities have a unique cultural influence and an intimate connection with their fans, especially among young people. Their identity as a fan of a particular artist can be stronger than other aspects of their identity, including political affiliation. We are incredibly grateful to our artist partners and their teams for inspiring their fans to take control of their future."
Since its inception in 2004, HeadCount has registered over 1.5 million voters by partnering with artists like Grande, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and more. This year alone, HeadCount participated in over 3,700 events, registered over 450,000 new voters, and engaged over 3 million music fans to take action. Remarkably, over 80% of all voters registered by HeadCount this year belong to Generation Z or the Millennial generation.
