A significant legal ruling has just been handed down in court, profoundly influencing the daily existence of Taylor Swift's godson, Leo Thames Newman. On March 17th, People magazine revealed that Kyle Newman, the ex-husband of Jaime King, has been granted sole physical custody of Leo, Swift's cherished godson, as well as their other son, James. The judicial decision, as scrutinized by People, outlined the custody arrangements.

While legal custody of both James, aged 11, and Leo, 9, will be shared between King and Newman, Newman holds the "tie-breaking authority" in legal matters when necessary. Furthermore, Newman has been awarded exclusive physical custody of both boys, with supervised visitation rights granted to King by the judge. These visits, as reported by People, will occur in "specific hour blocks," with King allowed to see her sons three times a week under supervision.

Additionally, People disclosed that an addendum to the court's decision cited King's restricted access to her sons as a consequence of unfulfilled stipulations. King was mandated to complete a six-month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, which she failed to do. She was also required to finish a 26-week parenting course, undergo weekly testing, and attend weekly therapy sessions to "address case issues." Moreover, she was instructed to engage in counseling sessions with her sons once deemed appropriate by their therapist, according to People.

Newman and King tied the knot in 2007 but parted ways in 2020 when King filed for divorce. Since their separation, People noted that multiple allegations of drug and alcohol issues surrounding King have emerged, coupled with relentless custody battles over their two young boys.

Recalling the naming of Swift as her baby's godmother, King once explained to People that it wasn't solely based on Swift's fame but rather her morals, values, the way she treats people, and her unparalleled work ethic. "That's the kind of person I want to be the guide and spiritual protector of my child," King emphasized.
