Viewers hold a fondness for Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, yet their affection deepens significantly when she appears alongside her husband, Prince Harry. On March 4th, the former Meghan Markle made her grand entrance into the Netflix sphere with her new show, "With Love, Meghan." While it garnered a solid audience upon its premiere, it paled in comparison to the colossal turnout that tuned in for "Harry & Meghan" in 2022.

According to Samba TV, a television technology company specializing in audience measurement, "With Love, Meghan" attracted 526,000 households, encompassing live views plus an additional five days of viewership post-premiere. This figure barely scratches the surface of the audience "Harry & Meghan" amassed within a smaller timeframe (live plus three days), boasting an impressive 2.1 million households.

So, who exactly was captivated by the Duchess's latest television venture? Samba revealed that Generation X households (adults aged 45-54) exhibited a 4% over-index, suggesting they were slightly more inclined to watch the program than the average viewer.

Netflix, evidently pleased with the buzz and enthusiasm surrounding the new series, received reassuring news a few days after "With Love, Meghan's" debut. Meghan herself announced on Instagram that the show would be renewed for a second season.

Meghan Markle has always been a figure of controversy in the media. Many argue, perhaps unfairly, that she was relentlessly vilified by British tabloids, which partly influenced the Duke and Duchess's decision to relocate from the UK. When the couple left in 2020, Meghan, an American, faced a barrage of criticism, again seemingly unwarranted. When "Harry & Meghan" premiered two years later, audiences were eager to hear their personal narrative on their "Brexit." Unsurprisingly, the hype surrounding the show attracted a vast audience. In 2020, the couple inked a lucrative five-year deal worth $100 million with Netflix, with this particular show featuring Meghan and an array of her celebrity friends as she hosted them. Harry makes a cameo in the final episode, while he starred in two other series, "Heart of Invictus" and "Polo," as part of their Netflix agreement.

The guest list for "With Love, Meghan" reads like a who's who of celebrities, including Mindy Kaling, Vicky Tsai, Abigail Spencer, Daniel Martin, Tracy Robbins, Alice Waters, and more. Given the lead's immense fame, it's no surprise that reviews for "With Love, Meghan" ranged from mild to scorching. The show holds a modest 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a meager 2.8/10 on IMDb.
