Fortunately, Ahsoka Tano has managed to capture one of Thrawn's trusted allies and extracted crucial information about a clandestine map, vital to the enemy's nefarious scheme. With this knowledge, Ahsoka is now on the hunt for this map, while her prisoner, Morgan Elsbeth, is being transported to the New Republic to face justice.
Unfortunately, Morgan's journey is interrupted midway as mysterious figures claiming to be "Jedi" materialize, eager to meet the prisoner. The Captain, sensing a trap, decides to test their intentions and allows them to board the ship. But soon, he finds himself helpless as these sinister Sith reveal their true colors.
The pair quickly disperse, slaughtering the crew with ruthless efficiency while seizing the prisoner for their own purposes. Among them is a man named Baylan, clearly hired for this mission. He frees Morgan and they depart, leaving chaos and confusion in their wake.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka remains focused on her pursuit of the map. She spends a tense five minutes puzzling through an intricate mechanism inside a temple, her mind racing as she decodes the ancient secrets. Finally, she uncovers a strange golden orb that turns out to be the elusive map. Excitedly, she tries to contact Huyang, but the signal is jammed in the depths of the temple.
To her horror, when she emerges back into the daylight, she finds herself surrounded by droids, lying in wait for her unsuspecting prey. The hunt has taken a dangerous turn, and Ahsoka knows she must be more cautious and cunning if she hopes to succeed in her quest.
Naturally, Ahsoka dispatched her foes swiftly, barely breaking a sweat as they activated a self-destruct protocol. The ensuing shockwave reverberated across the planet, yet Ahsoka managed to leap onto her ship just in the nick of time. Imagine the calamity if they had captured her and destroyed the precious map! Nevertheless, Baylan and the Sith were hot on Ahsoka's trail, piecing together that she was the custodian of the map.
Back on board her ship, a Priority One transmission awaited Ahsoka. General Hera Syndulla appeared, briefing her on the latest developments regarding the prisoner. Ahsoka viewed the transmission of the mysterious Sith duo, clueless about their identities, and noted that they had vanished without a trace.
Elsewhere, Sabine Wren, a rebel known for her aversion to following orders, made a reappearance. However, she was not alone in her travels as Baylan's apprentice Sith hunted her relentlessly. Fortunately, she was reunited with Ahsoka, who arrived with the map, knowing the extent of Sabine's expertise.
Alone together, Ahsoka unfolded the map before Sabine, pointing out that it could hold the key to finding Ezra, her primary objective. Sabine scrutinized the star map, concluding that there must be a key or codex to decipher its secrets. The clue might lie within the temple, which Huyang mapped out and projected onto the table.
Ahsoka hesitated, uncertain if entrusting the map to Sabine was a wise decision. It could spark a war if it fell into the wrong hands. She refused to let Sabine leave and ordered her to stay put. Nevertheless, Sabine, true to her rebellious nature, disobeyed Ahsoka and snuck out to speak with Hayun in secret. She snatched the map and made a hasty return to her hideout, unaware that she was being tailed by the cunning Sith apprentice.
Amidst the chaos and confusion, Sabine manages to unearth a pivotal clue. Deep within the bowels of the temple, she stumbles upon the revelation of three faces hidden in obscurity. She shrewdly employs this clue against the enigmatic Star Map, piecing together the key to unlocking the puzzle's mystery. The solution lies in manipulating the various points, a dance of intricate twists and turns. As she does so, the map springs to life, its projection spanning the entire chamber, charting their next course.
Yet, Sabine's journey is not without its challenges. She is not alone in this endeavor, and the droids swoop in, seizing the map and blasting her room, leaving her unable to record or map as meticulously as she desires. As the Apprentice and Sabine prepare for their climactic duel at the communications tower, tensions mount. The fight erupts in a flurry of blows, and in a flash of light, the Apprentice slashes Sabine through the stomach with her lightsaber, leaving her wounded and the Apprentice escaping.
