Episode 3 opens with Alex and Nile embarking on a journey to confront Julia, eager for clarity about Scorpio, The Widow, and Alex's own enigmatic past. Repeatedly, Alex probes Nile, seeking answers about Kovacic's demise and the mysterious item the Polish scientist had sold them, but Nile remains stubbornly silent.

Meanwhile, in the heart of London, MI6's systems are breached, granting Scorpio the freedom to engage in a conversation with them whenever they desire. The caller, Julia, persists in her attempts to reach them, but Madam Secretary dismisses her claims about an "Invisible Sword" weapon as mere bluffing. Determined to prove Scorpia's sincerity, Julia devises a demonstration. Blunt and Smithers, however, are not so easily deceived; they know the organization's capabilities and refuse to discount Julia's warnings.

Jones and Smithers soon uncover Scorpia's target: a football stadium filled with 2000 eager spectators. MI6 swings into action, evacuating the entire football team in a heavily armored convoy. But to their horror, all the players suddenly collapse, their hearts seemingly stopped. This chilling incident confirms that Scorpia possesses a highly advanced weapon, prompting Blunt to urge informing the Prime Minister of the dire situation.

In Malta, Tom and Kyra embark on their own mission to track down Alex. Kyra suggests breaking into Kovacic's apartment in search of clues. They successfully infiltrate the apartment but are soon caught when suspicious neighbors alert the police. Fortunately, Jack Starbright intervenes, and they narrowly escape without facing any charges.

Finally, Alex confronts Julia face to face. She subtly hints at a past connection with Alex's father, but Alex remains skeptical, refusing to believe a word she says. However, when Julia reveals that Alex's father, Alex Rider, was actually a Scorpia operative, Alex's expression changes completely. According to Julia, Scorpia hired John Rider due to his exceptional skills, and he soon rose to become one of their most esteemed agents.

When Alex remains unconvinced, Julia produces a handful of letters, claiming they were sent by John Rider himself. The letters hint at a close relationship between John and Julia, possibly even friendship. Julia extends an invitation to Alex, offering him a chance to join Scorpia and become one of their elite agents. She believes that Alex possesses the skills to excel within the organization and suggests that Scorpia could be his new home.

But as Alex attempts to flee, Julia drops a bombshell, revealing a heart-wrenching truth: John Rider did not die in a plane crash, as officially reported. Instead, he was assassinated by a sniper, who turned out to be one of the department's own agents. This revelation leaves Alex stunned and deeply shaken. In the end, Alex makes a startling decision: he agrees to join Scorpia and will be trained by the lethal assassin, Yassen.
