In the poignant third episode of Bad Sisters' second season, the Garvey sisters immerse themselves in sorrow over Grace's untimely demise. They repeatedly play the voicemail she left for Eva, their minds swirling with questions about the help she desperately sought. Ursula is tormented by the possibility that the medication she provided Grace might have contributed to her fatal accident. Searching her home frantically, she can't locate the packet she had given her sister.
Eva, overwhelmed by her employer's lack of empathy for her grief, tenders her resignation. Blanaid inquiries about Ian, but the family is at a loss for words. His continued absence weighs heavily on her, and she still harbors resentment towards Grace for driving him away.
In Ian's absence, Ursula bravely volunteers to identify the body. The arrival of Detectives Loftis and Houlihan raises eyebrows, as they too wonder about Ian's whereabouts. Houlihan inquiries about Loftis' family and learns that his daughter is relocating to Australia. Both detectives attend the funeral, much to the Garveys' discomfort, along with Matthew Claffin, who shocks Becka with his presence. Joe remains oblivious to their past relationship.
The priest's words are barely discernible, his speech impeded by a stroke suffered the previous year. Bibi's laughter at the funeral unexpectedly turns into tears, marking the first time she's been able to grieve openly since Grace's passing.
The service concludes with Roger's heartfelt rendition of a song dedicated to Grace. Ian finally appears at the funeral's tail end, revealing to the Garveys that he discovered Grace's role in John Paul's demise. The detectives seek to question him, but he evades their probing inquiries with deft maneuvering.
Ian inquiries of the sisters whether they lent a hand in her predicament. They eventually confess, acknowledging their role in concealing the truth, prompting Ian to request some time to grapple with the revelation.
Angelica confides in Ursula, revealing her awareness of JP's actions towards Grace and Ursula's subsequent retaliation. Ursula, torn by guilt, unburdens herself to Angelica about the pills she administered to Grace, believing it was her actions that ultimately led to her demise.
In a later conversation, Houlihan unveils to Loftus her investigation into Matt Claffin's social media presence. Observing their mutual affection for each other's posts, she deduces that Matt and Becka once shared a romantic past. Furthermore, she suspects that the sisters colluded in the murder and that Becka leveraged Matt's assistance to evade justice.
Ursula endeavors to mend fences with Angelica following their heartfelt discussion. However, Angelica deftly sidesteps the topic, steering the conversation towards the financial needs of her charitable organization. Ursula catches the subtle cue, leaving an envelope filled with money as a gesture of appeasement, hoping it will secure Angelica's silence.
Eva engages in a heated debate with Ian over her perception that he is "hogging" Blanaid, lamenting that the young girl never seeks her out. Ian stands his ground, insisting on his role as Blanaid's caring stepfather who desires to be an integral part of her life. Though Eva attempts to embrace this reality, she continues to grapple with the profound sense of duty she feels towards her niece.
Later, while rummaging through Grace's jacket, Eva discovers receipts documenting withdrawals totaling 20,000 pounds, all made shortly before Grace's untimely demise. She shares this startling find with her sisters. Ursula, unable to utter a word, abruptly leaves the scene and races to Donal's place. From him, she learns that Ally, Donal's girlfriend and her coworker, has been contemplating an audit at work due to the mysterious disappearance of some pills. Distressed, Ursula flees once again.
Returning to her workplace with the intent to pilfer some records, Ursula is caught red-handed by Ally, who urges her not to dig her own grave any deeper. Ursula confesses that she initially stole the pills to alleviate Michael's nightmares but eventually succumbed to temptation, taking one herself and experiencing the most restful sleep she had ever known.
Elsewhere, Loftis' wife persists in pestering him to sign their divorce papers, to which he stubbornly refuses. Upon receiving the toxicology report, the detectives visit the Garvey sisters. They reveal that the results are clean, indicating that Grace had neither consumed alcohol nor ingested any substances on the night of her death, much to Ursula's relief. Houlihan then probes Becka about her relationship with Matt, which she vehemently denies.
Ursula finally admits to taking some pills and giving some to Grace, revealing that she had also confessed to Angelica, who subsequently blackmailed her. She suspects that Angelica might have done the same to Grace. Little do they know the extent of Angelica's involvement in Grace's life. Surprisingly, Angelica is also well-acquainted with Blanaid, as the two meet up secretly, unknown to the sisters.
