In the seventh episode of Season 2 of "Bad Sisters," Eva receives the shocking revelation that Ian has absconded with every penny from Blanaid's savings accounts, which she had entrusted him with access to. Ian has vanished into thin air, but not before leaving behind an anonymously delivered flash drive that casts aspersions on the other Garvey siblings in connection with Angelica's murder.
Detective Houlihan swings into action, arresting and grilling Bibi, Becka, and Ursula, yet extracts nothing but silence from their lips. Loftus eventually halts her relentless questioning when it transpires that Angelica has been discovered—alive. However, Houlihan seethes with frustration as Loftus dismisses her lingering suspicions.
Eva collects her sisters and confides in them that Ian has duped her and wiped out Blanaid's account. They swiftly realize they dare not alert the authorities, as Ian is privy to their innermost secrets. They concoct a theory that Grace might have required assistance in dealing with Ian's blackmailing schemes, rather than Angelica's murder.
Eva turns back to alcohol as a coping mechanism, while Ursula ventures to apologize to Angelica, who is understandably terrified to see her. Can anyone blame her? Angelica recalls boarding the boat with them but is left with a blank slate about what transpired thereafter.
Ursula fills Angelica in on how Ian deceived them all, but Roger ushers her out. On her way out, she bumps into Houlihan, who is just about to question Angelica. During the interrogation, Angelica reveals that she never bought Ian's story about having a deceased sister.
Meanwhile, Becka attempts to squeeze information about Ian out of Joe, but their conversation only escalates into a spat. However, after some resistance, Joe relents and spills the beans that Ian is a habitual gambler.
Houlihan confronts Loftus at his retirement party about his lies. He confesses he initially stole the money so he could win custody of his daughter. Not caring, she nearly puts Loftus on full blast in front of everyone there. But seeing his daughter with him stops her.
By pitching it as a way of honoring Grace, the sisters are able to get Roger’s help finding Ian, and they head off to the horse races. There, they figure out Ian’s real name (Cormac).
Matt meets Becka to tell her he’s not willing to break up a family, and she’s okay with that. They were there for each other when they needed each other, and now it’s time to part ways. But first, Becka shares with him that she’s having a boy.
Eva is able to unlock Ian’s phone by inputting his lucky number 5. She learns where he lives and goes there to confront him. But a woman answers the door instead, claiming that she has recently moved in and that she doesn’t know Ian.
But once Eva leaves, we see that Ian does in fact still live there. The woman tells him he’d better sort things out, as he’d promised her these people would never come near their house or kids.
Later on, Ursula approaches Loftus with a plea for assistance in locating Ian. Reluctantly, he declines her request but inadvertently reveals a crucial detail: the discovery of money at Grace's residence. Meanwhile, Houlihan is also piecing together the puzzle. She uncovers the startling truth that Ian is none other than Sgt. Cormac Sweeney, an officer who resigned from his duties following an investigation into the demise of a homeless individual named Ian Reilly.
Furthermore, Houlihan discovers that Cormac's past is tainted with accusations of domestic violence, embezzlement, and fraud. Yet, to her astonishment, all these complaints have been mysteriously withdrawn, and the investigations have been concluded. As the episode draws to a close, Eva receives the shocking news that Ian has collected Blanaid from school. Without a moment to lose, she speeds to Grace's house, where Ian emerges to confront her.
