Found – Season 2 Episode 2 1

In the present, Gaby embarks on a mission to uncover the elusive proof of life Sir had mentioned near the pay phone. She confronts Sir, asserting that the image he provided was inadequate and insisting on speaking with Lacey directly. Sir, however, rejects her plea, clarifying his sinister intent: to inflict upon Gaby the torment she caused by severing their bond. He toys with her, meticulously poisoning her comrades to incapacitate them without causing fatal harm. From their conversation, Gaby discerns that Sir is keeping a vigilant eye on her and spots a clandestine camera lurking in the vicinity.

Sir returns to the house, where Lacey bravely offers to aid in treating his wounds. Though he agrees, he makes it abundantly clear that she is no replacement for Gaby, merely a pawn in his scheme to reach her. He reveals that he had been digging a grave intended for her and permits her to treat him, albeit temporarily, as she attempts to escape his grasp once again. Yet, when she dares to threaten him anew, he swiftly binds her wrists. Fortunately, she manages to seize an object that could aid her in her bid for freedom.

Meanwhile, tensions remain palpable at the office, with Zeke and Margaret locked in a stormy dispute. Gaby presents them with the proof of life and shares Sir's ulterior motives. In consensus, they deem it prudent to temporarily appease Sir while they track down the payphone. Zeke cautions that it may take time, but it's a step forward amidst the fog of uncertainty.

Elsewhere, Detective Shaker tasks the team with locating a gravely ill newborn named Reign, who was abducted from outside a hospital. The mother, Viola, is beside herself with worry, blaming herself and overwhelmed by the mystery surrounding her infant's condition, which doctors neglected until it was almost too late. Detective Shaker subtly urges Zeke to procure footage of the kidnapping, bypassing the time-consuming process of obtaining warrants. The team concurs to juggle both cases simultaneously.

Margaret and Gaby venture to the hospital to converse with Viola and her daughter, Raya. As they engage in conversation, Viola collapses, prompting Margaret to accuse Gaby of clouding her instincts, as her anger had blinded her to the signs of Viola's distress. Dhan endeavors to mend fences with Zeke, whose anger remains unyielding. Delving into the family's social media, Zeke discovers a foster child residing in another city but rules him out as he was absent during the kidnapping.

Gaby receives an urgent call from Reign's father, informing her that the child's test results have arrived, revealing a diagnosis of haemolytic disease. Reign urgently needs a blood transfusion within the next nine hours; failure to secure one will result in her death. Viola is overcome with guilt, while Margaret tries to console her. Subsequently, Gaby assigns Margaret the task of handling the press conference, allowing her to pursue another lead.

However, Margaret's composure crumbles as reporters persist in inquiring about Lacey rather than focusing on the missing, gravely ill child. She labels them racist, and shortly thereafter, the interview goes viral online, revisiting another Margaret interview where she lambasted the media after her son was abducted.

Meanwhile, Gaby encounters Trent at the police station, but he declines to share his findings with her. She also bumps into Evans, Sir's estranged brother. Trent grills Evans, but he insists on maintaining his silence regarding Sir. Evans claims they have been estranged for 25 years but expresses willingness to assist.

Elsewhere, Zeke updates Gaby on Sir's whereabouts, prompting them to investigate vacant homes near the pay phone. Gina also visits, bringing Gaby some food. A nostalgic flashback reveals that Gaby confided in Gina about her father's drinking problem, relying on her and her therapist for support during difficult times.

Switching back to Sir, he watches the news coverage of the case, feeling that Gaby is placing her trust in the wrong individuals, particularly after Margaret's botched press briefing. Lacey seizes this moment to stroke his ego, insisting that Gaby needs him to crack the case.

As the investigation intensifies, the team begins to suspect that Viola might be hiding something, further upsetting her. Margaret becomes furious when Gaby suggests enlisting Sir's help. Returning to the office, Margaret is astonished when Evans barges in, volunteering his assistance. He abruptly interrupts Zeke and Margaret's phone calls, asserting his familiarity with the area they are investigating. Sir had once taken him there on a trip during his youth. The house holds sentimental value to Sir, as he lived there with his mother before Evans was born.

Gaby hastily returns to the payphone, her anticipation palpable as she awaits Sir's call. Yet, her hopes are dashed as he leaves her waiting for an agonizing twenty minutes before finally appearing in person. Sir begins to plant seeds of doubt in Gaby's mind regarding Lacey, casting aspersions on her behavior and laying the blame at her feet. He insistently declares that if Lacey is indeed guilty, then the blood is literally on her hands. However, amidst his accusations, he inadvertently aids Gaby in realizing that the perpetrator might be closer than they initially suspected.

At this juncture, Dhan arrives to ferry Gaby away, and she urgently instructs him to relay a message to Zeke, directing him to hone their search towards a house situated merely a twenty-minute drive from the payphone. The revelation that the foster brother is missing propels them into a fresh quest, quickly uncovering Raya's reluctance to embrace a sibling. Their timely intervention saves Raya from a fatal attempt to end her life via carbon dioxide poisoning in her garage.

Concurrently, the foster brother arrives at Gaby's office with Reign in tow. Margaret, driven by an urgent desire to reunite the baby with its mother, rushes to the hospital. With Reign safely secured, the team's focus shifts back to Lacey. Meanwhile, Sir catches a glimpse of Evans accompanying Margaret on the news, causing him to panic upon realizing his brother is aiding Gaby's team.

Seizing this fleeting moment, Lacey attempts to free herself from her bindings. Yet, Sir swiftly confronts her, shoving her roughly against the kitchen counter. By the time the police arrive at the scene, both Sir and Lacey have vanished without a trace.

As the Reign case draws to a close, Gaby implores Trent to extend leniency to Raya and her foster brother. Though Trent complies, his agreement stems not from Gaby's plea but from his own disposition. The episode concludes with Gaby's haunting recollection of discovering a young Lacey hiding beneath a bed. This time, her voice is filled with desperation as she urges Lacey to fight back. The scene then cuts to a harrowing vision of Sir forcefully placing an unconscious Lacey into the trunk of a car.
