Episode 4 of Season 2 of "Found" opens with Sir glued to the television screen, watching the news report about Lacey's discharge from the hospital. His mind is already elsewhere, making elaborate plans to flee the country with Gabriella in just two months' time. He's even gone as far as scouting for a house abroad, immersing himself in learning Dutch, and securing fake passports for both him and Gabriella.
Meanwhile, Dhan is consumed with anxiety about the future of the company and the wellbeing of Gaby. With Lacey back on her feet, Trent is hot on Gaby's trail, mere hours away from apprehending her. This urgency fuels Gaby's relentless pursuit of Sir, prompting her to steal Shaker's case file and reach out to a potential witness named Mr. Choi, who resides in a nursing home and battles dementia.
Years ago, Mr. Choi had unwittingly rented his house to Sir. Though his memory is spotty, he does manage to show Gaby a novel that Sir once gifted him, hinting at a possible lead.
Switching gears to Trent, he finds himself in a tight spot as he confronts his boss, revealing Gaby's alleged crimes. His boss challenges Trent to consider whether he's willing to sacrifice his career for his personal feelings towards Gaby. Without concrete evidence or a victim's statement, Trent's hands are tied. His boss advises him to secure the evidence first before implicating Gaby. Determined, Trent begins reaching out to Gaby's colleagues for information.
Elsewhere, Lacey moves in with Zeke, who promptly upgrades the security system around his house. Margaret cautions Zeke that Lacey is still recovering from a concussion and may exhibit unexpected behavior. Lacey, however, insists on returning to work, oblivious to the fact that Gaby had confessed to kidnapping Sir – a revelation that shocked the team.
Just when things couldn't get any more complicated, the team is thrust into a new case when a young boy named Jay seeks their help. His parents, Kate and Sam, have vanished after attending a party, and his grandmother dismisses his concerns. The team springs into action, diving into the mystery surrounding the missing couple.
Trent initiates his involvement in the case, despite the absence of any police summons. His path crosses with Margaret at the couple's residence, where he attempts to persuade her to betray Gaby's confidences. Margaret, though enraged with Gaby, stands firm in her refusal to act as an informer. As they inspect the house together, they stumble upon a grim discovery: traces of blood in one of the drains.
Scrutinizing the couple's social media profiles reveals a picture of domestic bliss, deceptively perfect. Yet, a deeper dive uncovers hints of Kate possibly engaging in an affair, a revelation that ultimately leads them to a dead end. The investigation then shifts focus to the party, where they uncover a waiter with a criminal past of burglarizing homes. They seriously consider his potential involvement in the crime but swiftly dismiss the notion.
It transpires that Trent's motivation to take on this case stems from a personal connection. Meanwhile, Lacey catches a glimpse of Sir trailing Trent after his visit to Zeke's place. Dismissing it as a hallucination due to her troubled past, she chooses to ignore it. Years ago, a childhood injury led her to report seeing Sir, prompting social services to threaten separation from her mother. The incident left her scarred, with people attributing her distress to traumatic stress. Gaby's support during that challenging time was invaluable, but now, whenever she spots Sir on surveillance footage, she suffers from panic attacks, convinced they are merely figments of her imagination—despite Gaby's usual comforting presence being advised against by the team.
Further sleuthing into the case uncovers Jake's dark secret: he's an abusive husband. His mother overlooked his actions, and Jay, fearful, never dared to report his father to the authorities. Trent opens up to Jay about his own sister's ordeal with an abusive spouse, thereby revealing the personal stake he holds in the matter.
Returning to the crime scene, Trent narrowly misses encountering Sir, who has been tailing Trent to keep tabs on Gaby. Sir leaves a letter intended for Gaby, which Trent delivers. The missive warns Gaby against trusting Trent and enlightens her that Kate might not be the helpless victim she appears to be.
Thanks to Zeke's perseverance in securing footage from the house's surveillance cameras, they come to the realization that Kate had snapped under pressure. Following the festive chaos of the party, Sam launched an unexpected attack on Kate, who, far from being defenseless, retaliated with spirit. She valiantly dragged him out of the house, prompting the team to embark on a desperate search for her whereabouts. Meanwhile, Lacey shares a critical piece of information, revealing she had witnessed Sir trailing Trent.
In a thrilling turn of events, the team manages to rescue both Sam and Kate from their perilous situation. At the hospital, amidst the calm after the storm, Jay confronts his father head-on, compelling him to withdraw the charges against his mother. With the case finally closed, Lacey's thoughts drift back to Gaby's confession, a reminder of unresolved tensions. She admits to harboring resentment towards Gaby but underscores that the paramount importance lies in saving lives. As she confides in Zeke, she also declares that her fear of Sir has faded into the past.
The two find solace in each other's company, drifting into a peaceful slumber. However, Zeke's dreams take a dark turn, as he nightmares about waking up to find Lacey missing once again, leaving a chilling sense of unease lingering in the air.
