Cate adamantly opposes Andre's plan to rescue Sam, voicing her concerns about the dangers involved. Their conversation takes a surprising turn as they realize they harbor feelings for each other.
Meanwhile, that same evening, Marie is startled by the faint voice of Emma. She discovers Emma has shrunk to an astonishingly tiny size and rushes to her aid. After feeding her and helping her return to her normal size, Marie attempts to persuade Emma that purging herself is unhealthy. Emma, however, explains that it's simply how her superpower functions, akin to how Marie must cut herself to access her blood-based abilities. The two clash over their differing perspectives, leading to a heated argument and a temporary rift in their friendship.
The following day, Marie finds solace over a stack of pancakes with Indira. Indira expresses empathy for Marie's recent interview debacle and extends an invitation to attend a fundraiser party. Marie gratefully accepts.
Later, the media training students learn from clips featuring Marie, but Polarity scoffs at her efforts. Instead, he encourages Andre to seize the spotlight, urging him to join him at the fundraiser. Andre seeks his father's advice on whether it's a worthy endeavor to use his powers for the greater good, but his father rushes off to deliver a speech.
The next day, Justine offers Emma an apology for spilling her secret, but Emma quickly senses that she's being filmed. As she walks away, she spots her mother approaching. They sit down for a heart-to-heart, and Emma confesses feeling overwhelmed by her mother's constant scrutiny. Her mother reveals that she's seen the video on YouTube and insists that Emma accompany her to the fundraiser event.
On the same day, Marie approached Cate with an apology for the mess she had caused, but she was confronted with the revelations of her past disparaging remarks about him captured on camera. Embarrassed, Marie quickly retreated. A flashback then played out, revealing Cate's valiant effort to soothe Luke after one of his explosive episodes.
The scene shifted to Jordan, peacefully sleeping with a university student, only to be interrupted by the arrival of her parents. Hastily, she chased away her companion, who vanished through the wall, and magically transformed back into a boy to greet her astonished parents.
As the night progressed, the students geared up for the fundraiser. Marie and Indira mingled with the crowd, engaging in lively conversations. Indira cautioned Marie to stay vigilant in her pursuit of the top spot.
Emma's mother introduced her to Courtney, who offered her a role in her upcoming reality TV show. However, Emma quickly realized that the role was merely a ploy for sympathy and lacked any genuine inspiration.

Andre revealed his plan to sneak into the building and reach Sam to Emma, and she immediately expressed her assent. Escorting her to the bunker, Andre handed her a GPS tag as she had already shrunk. After providing her with instructions, Emma sneaked under the door and into the asylum.
Subtly slipping into Sam's food tray, Emma stealthily entered his room. Sam immediately spotted her and trapped her beneath a cup, wondering if she was real or merely a figment of his imagination.
The fundraiser proceeded with Marie featured on the banner. A brief clip played, honoring Brink's memory. As the event unfolded, Andre's anxiety grew regarding Emma's whereabouts. His father confronted him, inquiring about his lack of focus, prompting Andre to reveal his knowledge of the underground hospital. Polarity, astonished, ordered him to keep silent. Just then, a friend summoned Polarity aside, and he reluctantly obliged.
Sam persisted in believing that Emma was a hallucination and demanded proof of her reality. He bombarded her with questions about himself, and though she stumbled over a few answers, she persisted in convincing him that she was genuine and intent on aiding his escape. Unswayed, Sam insisted on remaining, but Emma revealed that it was his brother's plan to liberate him. Finally convinced, Sam offered to provide her with the door codes.
During a candid conversation, Marie realized that Indira valued her solely for public relations purposes and abruptly left the scene. Jordan, initially mocking her for various reasons, including being her parents' favorite, was taken aback when Marie confessed that she had been unaware of her powers until her first menstrual cycle, accidentally killing her parents in the process due to her inability to control them.
