Episode 6 of Grotesquerie kicks off with Lois returning to the hospital, where the deranged woman awaits. It transpires that she hadn't delivered a child on that fateful day, nor was the blood her own. Determined to uncover the truth, Lois confronts the woman, who introduces herself as Maisie Montgomery. Maisie insists with conviction that the baby is hers and cleverly dodges Lois' probing inquiries. Intriguingly, Lois finds herself inexplicably drawn to the word "Glorious," which Maisie uses with a suspicious frequency.

Maisie delves deeper, hinting at a grave injustice lurking in the town and accusing Lois of being acutely aware of it. She teases Lois, suggesting that the repetition of the word is a deliberate tactic to "catch her eye" and attributes their meeting to fate's whimsical hand.

Outside the room, Lois discovers that the woman's true identity is Moira, a 67-year-old with a familiarity with the word "Glorious" that finally piques Lois' curiosity enough to seek her out. Moira resides at Spot 5 in a nearby trailer park, prompting Lois to don her finest detective attire and venture over to confront her. There, Moira, alias Glorious, awaits her, having anticipated Lois' arrival.

Glorious reveals that she was granted witness protection in exchange for spilling the beans to Interpol about a vile baby-trading ring from Istanbul. With the Turkish mafia now decimated, she's been released from her protective custody. It transpires that Glorious isn't the killer but instead orchestrated a complex plan, using Maisie as a conduit to deliver the baby to Lois before it could be sold in Modesto.

Glorious'sambush, aided by a couple of her cronies lurking nearby, takes a sudden turn for the worse. Lois discovers an Uzi in the pimp's purse, a discovery that will undoubtedly lead to a lengthy prison sentence for Glorious. She sneers, accusing Lois of being manipulated by a false prophet, using her as a pawn in a divine game. Maisie, it transpires, was a faithful congregant at the church, intertwined in Glorious's sinister web.

Lois meticulously scrutinizes the evidence at her home, her thoughts consuming her until interrupted by a mocking phone call playing eerie choral music. Outside, a camera clicks mysteriously, prompting Lois to arm herself and venture out. However, her confrontation is interrupted by Nurse Redd, who arrives with a bottle of vodka as a gesture of truce. As Redd unloads her troubles, she reveals an unexpected connection to Marshall, dating back to his pre-coma days. She had been an avid follower, attending all his lectures for years and even attempting to win his affections.

Redd's hostility arises from Marshall confiding in her about his family's tragic circumstances—Merritt's self-destructive eating and Lois's alcoholic spiral. Incensed by this revelation, Lois grabs her gun, pointing it at Redd and demanding her departure.

Returning to the hospital, Lois confronts Maisie, who admits to feeling pride in aiding the abduction of children from the so-called "prophet of disassembling." Maisie confesses that Glorious had swayed her from her previous conviction, which saw mothers' decisions as condemning their children to death.

It transpires that Grotesquerie deliberately led Lois to the fire pit earlier in the season, revealing it as The Breach. Maisie believes that if Grotesquerie wanted Lois dead, she would already be so. Instead, he seems to envision Lois as a martyr. With a grim smile and a decisive cut, Maisie finally divulges the babies' location.

A tactical team descends on an abandoned plant, swiftly securing the perimeter. The area is desolate, except for pregnant women attached to a machine, forcibly extracting their breast milk to feed the babies directly below.

Guided by eerie choral music echoing through the plant, Lois discovers a bizarre shrine adorned with numerous photographs of herself pinned to the wall. While the officers rescue the women, Lois is startled by a knife-wielding assailant lunging at her. In a swift motion, Lois pivots and fires, leaving the attacker to bleed out as Sister Megan awakens. Bending over, Lois removes the killer's mask, revealing... but the scene fades to black, leaving the identity a mystery.
