Land of Women – Season 1 Episode 3 1

Gala awakens with the dawn's first light, brimming with anticipation for her inaugural day at the cooperative. Meanwhile, Julia feigns illness, desperate to evade the daily grind, only to be discovered fit as a fiddle by the vigilant Kate. As Kate escorts her to the doctor's, she cunningly seizes the moment to inquire about additional hormones. But, hampered by a lack of proper paperwork, the doctor warns of a protracted journey towards acquiring the necessary care.

Back at the heart of the vineyard, Amat weaves his persuasive magic, convincing the ladies of the cooperative to extend a similar olive branch to Gala as they had to him. Reluctantly, they acquiesce, and Gala embarks on her tasting journey, only to encounter a disappointing dearth of promising wines.

Yet, amidst these challenges, a bond begins to blossom between Gala and Amat. Their inaugural night on the job ends in a merry haze, and the following morning, Gala stumbles upon a hidden gem—a vintage wine from the cooperative's archives, its taste a revelation. Inspired, she proposes blending this treasure with their current offerings, envisioning a winning formula for the market. Amat, ever the champion, swiftly mobilizes Gala's network to bring this vision to life.

But the cooperative stands firm, their reluctance rooted in fear of losing their prestigious certification, even if it means forgoing the opportunity to offer a superior product. The stage is set for a clash of ideals, as Gala and Amat's innovative spirit collides with the cooperative's conservative stance.

Meanwhile, Julia confronts Andreu with the revelation that he is Gala's biological father, her tone laced with a request for financial assistance. Overwhelmed by the joy of discovering he has a daughter, Andreu eagerly acquiesces, but his conscience betrays him, unable to conceal this news from Mariona. Enraged by Julia's betrayal, Mariona vows to her sister that not a penny shall pass from their hands to hers, further disclosing Andreu's infertility as a cruel twist of fate. Julia's mind races, revisiting the past, searching for other possibilities of Gala's paternity amidst the chaos.

At the bustling bar, Kate's tranquility is shattered by a confrontational patron, who mercilessly exposes her transgender identity. The doctor's breach of confidentiality echoes through the room, leaving Kate vulnerable and exposed. Though Montse and the steadfast mechanic rally around her, offering solace, Kate's embarrassment proves too much to bear, forcing her retreat.

Back at their sanctuary, Gala and Julia offer Kate a refuge, their bond strengthening as they embark on a cathartic journey to a secluded spot. There, amidst the serenity, they unleash their frustrations in a primal scream, their voices mingling in solidarity.

Kate's memory stirs, recalling a subtle detail about Fred that sparks a lightbulb moment for Gala. She attempts a new password, one steeped in personal insight, and to her amazement, it grants her access to Fred's email account. Scrolling through the digital labyrinth, Gala's eyes widen upon encountering a photograph of another woman adorned with one of her cherished necklaces. The pieces fit together, revealing a sordid truth: Fred had been unfaithful.

Gala confides in Amat, the intimacy between them simmering until it threatens to boil over into a shared embrace. Yet, their moment is abruptly halted by Montse's arrival, her presence suggesting a deeper connection with Amat that complicates their dynamic.

As the episode draws to a cliffhanger, the sinister presence of loan sharks casts a long shadow over La Muga. They have unraveled Gala's whereabouts, their arrival a foreboding omen of impending turmoil.
