Koichi's recollection of the dawn of his college days is intertwined with the memory of an incident that nearly marred them. He embarked on a drinking spree with a group of friends, eagerly proposing they adjourn to his abode to unwind afterward. Little did he realize that his residence, resembling a set from a horror flick, was far from an inviting venue. In fact, his enthusiastic gesture inadvertently frightened his friends and tarnished his reputation. Yet, time has been kind to him, as he's now surrounded by individuals who embrace his quirks, transforming his mundane existence into a festival of camaraderie.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes – Episode 5 1

Meanwhile, amid chatter about a multi-armed villain on the news, a figure lurks in an alleyway, observing passersby. Contrary to appearances, he's not the predator but the prey. A eerie and foreboding samurai stands by, witnessing the man's slow descent into mortal peril, as the screen gradually fades to black.

Shifting to the present, a span of 14 months has elapsed since that harrowing episode. Pop visits Koichi's place, inquisitively asking why he's mending his hoodie rather than investing in a more durable one. Her playful repetition of the question ignites a spark of anger within the young man. An avid All Might fanatic, the hoodie holds immense sentimental value—a piece of a comprehensive collection he treasures.

Koichi reveals that he no longer possesses it, having parted with it long ago. Flashing back to his younger years, he harbored a dream of attending a prestigious hero-training academy. On the pivotal day of the entrance exam, he wore the exclusive hoodie, rushing eagerly to the test site.

Then, out of the blue, he witnessed a child with vibrant pink hair struggling to stay afloat in the treacherous currents of a river. Without hesitation, the boy plunged into the water to rescue the struggling tot, sacrificing his own clothes to ensure the child wouldn't suffer from the chill. Alas, his noble act came at the cost of being late for his exam, but he harbored the hope that his bravery might ignite a spark of kindness within the youngster's heart.

Upon reaching her abode, it became evident that the rescued child was none other than Pop, still clinging to the All Might hoodie he had lent her. Noticing her lack of gratitude, Pop resolved to unveil the truth to Koichi. However, her courage faltered upon arriving at his residence, as Knuckleduster's presence unexpectedly shattered the tender moment.

In the narrative's second act, we bear witness to the police releasing a hardened criminal with a quirky ability, who had previously clashed with vigilantes. As he stepped out of the precinct, he crossed paths with Kuin, who presented him with an alternate version of Trigger. Koichi and Pop☆Step, sensing his intent to wreak havoc once again, swiftly intercepted him and summoned the authorities. The villain acknowledged Koichi, dubbing him "The Crawler," which filled Koichi with pride. Yet, his triumph was short-lived, as the adversary charged towards him without delay.

As Koichi engaged the villain in a drawn-out battle, Pop dialed the police. Regrettably, the vigilante made a critical blunder, leaving himself defenseless against a devastating, hardened punch. Just when all seemed lost, Stendhal, the formidable samurai from an earlier encounter, swept in to save the day. With remarkable ease, he neutralized the threat and compelled the assailant to flee.

Later, as Koichi expressed his profound admiration for the vigilante who had come to his rescue, he received an intriguing invitation from an unexpected quarter. To the astonishment of both Koichi and Pop, it was from Souga, the bully and villain who had featured prominently in the first episode. Sensing their reluctance and suspicion, Souga departed abruptly, leaving his intentions a mystery.

In the meantime, Stendahl's relentless pursuit continues unabated. With a swift and decisive move, he severs one of the hardened villain's arms, his gaze subsequently falling upon his meticulously curated hit list. The next name etched thereon is Souga's. Yet, Stendahl is not sans company in his dark endeavors; Kuin, ever watchful and scheming, shadows his every move, itching to weave a tad of mischief into the unfolding narrative.
