Episode 2 of "Namib" kicks off with Soo-hyun seeking counsel from a high-ranking figure at a prestigious entertainment company. A plan begins to take shape in her mind: if Jin-woo triumphs in the competition, she could transfer his contract to a bigger agency, fetching the billion Korean won she desperately needs to purchase a factory for Shim Jin-woo.
A flashback reveals Soo-hyun's frustration as Jin-woo leverages her son to gain leverage. Elsewhere, at a club, Chris urges Jin-woo to work there nights and cautions him once again to trust no one.
Returning home, Soo-hyun discovers her husband and son have deserted her for a mutual friend's café, unable to endure her relentless pursuit of the factory and her insistence on hiring bodyguards for Shim Jin-woo at school.
The following day at the office, Soo-hyun learns that Jin-woo was poised for debut but was disqualified after mysteriously disappearing. The CEO of Smile Investments then makes an appearance, revealing his vendetta against Soo-hyun—she rejected him in favor of marrying Jun-seok.
Later, Soo-hyun confronts Yoo Jin-woo, demanding to know why he vanished and insisting on meeting his mother. Oblivious to their whereabouts, Jin-woo agrees to search for them. Throughout their quest, Jin-woo recalls harrowing memories of his parents exploiting his talents, like forcing him to perform at a restaurant when he was just eight.
While resting in a park, Jin-woo soothes a lost child with his singing, earning Soo-hyun's admiration for his remarkable talent. During this tender moment, Soo-hyun opens up, revealing that her father had evicted her, her mother, and her sister to live with his mistress.
They eventually track down Jin-woo's mother, who lambasts him for being dismissed by the company. Witnessing this, Soo-hyun recognizes Jin-woo's inherent kindness and decides to sign him on, providing him with food and shelter. She brings him to her home, astonishing her family.
However, just as she drops Jin-woo off, Soo-hyun dashes to the nursing home to prevent her father from taking her mother, who suffers from dementia, back with him. Upon her return, Soo-hyun finds Jun-seok furious, serving her with divorce papers. The episode concludes with Shin Jin-woo eavesdropping on his parents' heated altercation.
