At the dawn of Episode 11 of One Day, Dex is revealed to be fully immersed in his daily grind at Cal’s shop, a testament to the fact that his days as a renowned TV presenter and media icon are now relegated to the past. As customers trickle in, some recognize him vaguely and express gratitude for his past endeavors, while others sneer, mocking him for supposedly squandering his life and settling for a routine 9-to-5 job.

Yet, Dex remains unaffected, appearing genuinely content with his current life path. He finds fulfillment in earning an honest livelihood and holds deep gratitude for all that Cal has done for him. The only minor grievance he harbors is the relentless music that blasts through the shop whenever its doors are open.

One Day – Season 1 Episode 11 1

As Dex strides home, we are privy to a revealing tidbit - he and Sylvie are now parents, albeit unhappy ones. Sylvie, who named their daughter Jasmine, often loses her composure when Dex affectionately refers to her as Jazz. "Don't call her that," Sylvie sternly admonishes Dex, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Unlike Dex, Sylvie is struggling with the transition to her humble new apartment, constantly second-guessing her decision to tie the knot with Dex. She avoids returning to her parents' home, dreading the inevitable inquiries about her husband, Dex. Meanwhile, Dex stumbles upon the mixtape Emma crafted for him during his travels, a powerful reminder of their shared past. He extends an invitation for tea, but Emma politely declines, citing a dinner engagement with Tilly, who has now joined the ranks of motherhood.

Sylvie calls Dex, apprising him of her impending tardiness. Dex reassures her with words of faith, promising that he will soon turn things around for the better. However, what unfolds next shatters our hearts. It transpires that Sylvie has been unfaithful to Dex, engaging in a secret affair with Cal, his close friend and supervisor. And Dex, blissfully unaware, remains in the dark about this devastating truth.
