After this encounter, Chiron takes Percy under his wing, providing him with a comprehensive overview of camp life. He gently informs Percy that he must bide his time until his true father claims him as his son. Until then, Percy is instructed to reside at the camp of the unclaimed demigods, alongside the children of Hermes.

While residing at Hermes' camp, Percy forms a deep bond with Luke, who treats him with utmost kindness and compassion. Luke offers to assist Percy in discovering his latent abilities, eager to see his newfound friend excel. Meanwhile, Annabeth, Luke's sister, keeps a watchful eye on Percy, her gaze filled with curiosity and speculation. She wonders to herself if Percy is indeed the demigod that Chiron had spoken of, the one destined to guide her to her fate.

Wearing her cloak of invisibility, Annabeth accompanied Percy to the flag-bearing event, a scene filled with tension and excitement. Little did they know, Ares' fiery daughter, Clarissa, was lurking in the shadows, eager to expose Percy's supposed fraud. She taunted him, pushing him to confess his deceit, and soon, she and her two bullying cronies lunged at him in a flurry of punches and insults.

Amidst the chaos, Poseidon emerged from the surf, declaring Percy as his own son in a powerful display of paternal pride. The beach erupted into a fierce battle, waves crashing and sand flying as the gods clashed.

As the episode drew to a close, Chiron and Dionysus revealed a shocking truth to Percy. A war was brewing on Mount Olympus, sparked by Zeus's accusation that Percy had stolen his thunderbolt. Since Percy was Poseidon's son, Zeus had declared war on Poseidon. Percy protested his innocence, but the wise centaur and the jovial god explained that he had no choice but to intervene and prevent the conflict.

Amidst the ongoing power struggle between the three brothers, Chiron and Dionysus hinted that Hades, the mysterious God of the Underworld, might be the culprit who had taken the thunderbolt. Initially, Percy hesitated to aid Poseidon and stop the war, but Grover's revelation that his mother was with Hades and had not perished as they believed, left him with a newfound sense of purpose and resolve.
