Platonic – Season 1 Episode 10

Published: Jun 21 2024

Episode 10 of Platonic kicks off with Charlie and Sylvia embarking on a thorough inspection of their potential new abode. Their eyes scan every inch of the property, and it seems the stars have aligned in their favor. The house boasts ample space for their entire brood and even has room to spare. Despite the dark history of a triple homicide involving the O'Connell family, there's no trace of creepy vibes lingering in the air. Without further ado, they make the decision to purchase the property, and the whirlwind of moving preparations soon begins.

Meanwhile, at Lucky Penny, Omar has assumed the mantle of the new beer master, relegating Will to the role of his subordinate. Will, feeling the weight of Omar's mediocre leadership, issues a warning to Reggie and Andy: "You have no idea how much shit I can take." It's evident that Will's patience is being tested to its limits.

Katie, excited about her upcoming wedding, eagerly shares the details with Andy and persuades Sylvia to take on the role of wedding planner as an experiment. Sylvia, though initially reluctant, seems intrigued by the prospect of working as an event planner.

Platonic – Season 1 Episode 10 1

Charlie and Sylvia throw a housewarming party to celebrate their new home with friends and family. The festivities are in full swing until suddenly, the lights go out, plunging the gathering into darkness. The mood is instantly soured, but Will steps up to the challenge, realizing that the issue can be easily resolved by plugging the lights back in from the roof. Sylvia accompanies him to the top, and as Will fixes the lighting, they engage in a meaningful conversation.

It transpires that Johnny Revv keeps his business and pleasure separate and has offered Will a lucrative position heading up the beer division of his chain. Will confesses that, while he loves the Bar with all his heart, it's unlikely he'll be returning. In a bizarre turn of events, both Sylvia and Will claim to have spotted a UFO zooming past their heads. Incredulous, they rush downstairs to report their sighting to the adult guests, but their enthusiasm is met with skepticism and disbelief. Sylvia sides with the rational voices in the room, but Will persists, even resorting to expletives in his eagerness to be believed.

Their conversation turns sour in the kitchen as they accuse each other of trying to undermine the other. Will argues that buying a new house won't solve Sylvia's problems, while Sylvia suggests that Will is still immature and hasn't grown out of his teenage mindset. The argument reaches a fevered pitch, and Will storms out, insisting that they did see a UFO.

Before retiring to bed, Charlie offers to conduct a casual investigation with Sylvia into the UFO sighting, explaining that, mathematically speaking, the existence of extraterrestrial life is a possibility. Meanwhile, Sylvia stays up late, poring over her laptop and scouting potential wedding venues for Katie and Andy's big day.

The following day, Will encountered a significant hurdle in his new "workplace landscape" when Omar unexpectedly presented him with an unconventional challenge - themixing of M&Ms with beer. Despite his initial reluctance, Will ventured to give it a try, but the outcome was nothing short of disastrous.

Meanwhile, Sylvia received a jolting phone call from a lawyer, who revealed a startling past for Johnny Revv - a sordid history of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct. Without delay, she hastened to the bar and implored Will to seize the opportunity that had once beckoned him in San Diego.

Jenna, who had previously helmed the chemistry and food division, had ascended to the esteemed position of CEO, and Sylvia had already floated the possibility of an interview with her. Sylvia passionately argued to Will: his current job had been a cesspool of misery, and he deserved a fresh start. Inspired by her impassioned speech, Will made a decisive move - he resolved to quit his job and divest his entire stake in the bar.

Upon arriving at the headquarters, Will was startled to discover that Sylvia had not broached the subject with Jenna and had deceived him. He urgently pressed her to depart without meeting Jenna, but the new CEO had already spied them. Despite the unexpected turn of events, the meeting progressed as anticipated, and Will was offered the job. He and Sylvia celebrated the good news and discussed the new challenges that awaited him in his new role.

The realization that they would no longer cross paths as frequently as before suddenly dawned on them, and they found themselves overwhelmed with emotion. Time flew, and a year later, Sylvia's event planning business had taken off. It was the auspicious day of Katie and Andy's wedding, and Sylvia was busy orchestrating the ceremony.

As the ceremony commenced, she spied Will and Jenna arrive together. There was a silent acknowledgment between Will and Sylvia, as they exchanged a meaningful glance without words, acknowledging their enduring bond of friendship. A montage of their crazy moments together from the show flashed before their eyes. Will's hair had transformed into a vibrant shade of pink, a bold departure from his usual appearance.

After the ceremony, the couples gathered to catch up and share stories. Jenna revealed her sparkling engagement ring, announcing her engagement to Will. Congratulations rang out, and Jenna invited Sylvia to be their wedding planner.

Finally, we arrive at the climactic scene of the first season of Platonic. Will and Sylvia engage in a heartfelt conversation about their respective journeys and where they stand in life. Both agree that seeing a UFO on that fateful day was a shared experience that they cherish deeply. Their wild and adventurous times together are fond memories, but they have also found a newfound stability and happiness in their more adult and mature lives. Could they have ever imagined that their lives would be this fulfilling just a year ago?
