Episode 2 of "Study Group" resumes with Han-gyeong hustling into the classroom, her curiosity piqued by the commotion. Upon entering, she is confronted with a blazing bag, Hyeon-wu lying unconscious, and Ga-min hovering over him, a figure steeped in suspicion. With deft movements, she douses the flames just as the inspector and principal storm in. Eyes instantly turn towards Ga-min, whom they deem the perpetrator, and he is summoned for questioning.
In the meantime, White Ga-min stands in anticipation, awaiting the arrival of the inspector and principal. Se-hyeon, slipping into the room unseen, offers him a silent vote of thanks. Later, the tables turn for Hyeon-wu as Pi Han-ui leads him to the rooftop, setting the stage for an uncertain fate.
Back in the principal's office, the atmosphere is tense as the principal prepares to expel Ga-min. However, Han-gyeong steps forward to champion his cause, arguing that he is the true victim and that resorting to violence was a desperate measure to save himself. Her bold confrontation with the principal in front of the inspector leaves him flustered and embarrassed.
The inspector's memory finally clicks, and he recalls where he has seen Han-gyeong before. He reveals to the principal that Han-gyeong was the top performer in last year's teacher recruitment exam but was disqualified due to non-registration. Intrigued by her potential, the inspector is eager to see if she can make a difference at the school and grants her a chance to prove herself. Han-gyeong seizes the opportunity, proposing to help the students form a study group, an idea that the inspector warmly embraces.
The following morning, Ga-min indulges in a secret workout session before heading to school. The bond between him and Se-hyeon has deepened since the incident, and they embark on a quest to recruit members for their study group. Unbeknownst to them, the principal harbors a vendetta against Han-gyeong and is determined to see her idea fail. He gives her a mere two weeks to assemble a group.
Han-gyeong convenes with Se-hyeon and Ga-min, urging them to recruit fellow students with enthusiasm. The duo sets out to plaster posters around the school, only to be hampered by outrageous rumors surrounding Ga-min. After his altercation with Hyeon-wu, Ga-min has acquired a fearsome legend among his peers. Many students perceive him as a bully who will coerce them into joining the study group, and most steer clear of him for fear of incurring Pi Han-ui's wrath.
As the week progresses, Ga-min encounters Geon-yeob by chance and extends an invitation to join his study group. However, Geon-yeob declines, questioning why Ga-min would bring trouble upon those close to him.
As the days dragged on, Ga-min and Se-hyeon found themselves increasingly disheartened by the absence of any response. Meanwhile, Han-gyeong's concerns for Hyeon-wu, who had been absent from school since their altercation, grew ever more intense. She attempted to locate him but to no avail. One evening, after the final bell rang, Han-gyeong summoned Ga-min and Se-hyeon in an effort to lift their spirits. She treated them to books, pens, and a feast, using the opportunity to deepen her acquaintance with them.
After sharing a dessert filled with laughter and camaraderie, they each parted ways. However, Ga-min soon realized that he had inadvertently left his new book in Han-gyeong's bag.
In the meantime, Han-gyeong returned home to a startling scene: Hyeon-wu and his gang had forcibly entered her residence. Hyeon-wu ranted incoherently about Han-gyeong crossing the wrong individuals at school. It transpired that someone had instructed Hyeon-wu to assault Han-gyeong and teach her a harsh lesson. As Han-gyeong attempted to reason with him, her phone rang – it was Ga-min. Unfortunately, Hyeon-wu knocked the phone out of her hand, rendering her unable to answer. Just as Hyeon-wu lunged at her, Geon-yeob arrived on the scene, determined to rescue Han-gyeong.
The pair scurried to the parking lot for refuge, but their luck was short-lived; Hyeon-wu and his gang swiftly discovered their hiding spot. Han-gyeong once again tried to appeal to Hyeon-wu's better nature, but to no avail – she ended up being struck. Geon-yeon gave his all to fend off the attackers, but he was eventually overwhelmed by their numbers. Fortunately, Ga-min arrived on the scene like a knight in shining armor, confronting the gang with his fighting prowess. Seeing Ga-min's formidable strength, the gang members began to flee in disarray.
However, Hyeon-wu attempted to stab Ga-min, and Geon-yeob intercepted him. Hyeon-wu mocked Geon-yeob about his mother's death, pushing him over the edge. With renewed fury, Geon-yeob attacked Hyeon-wu, demanding to know what he knew about his mother's demise. Ga-min intervened to stop Geon-yeob, but he was shocked when Geon-yeob revealed that Pi Han Ui had some connection to his mother's death. Before departing, Geon-yeob warned Han-gyeong to be vigilant, as no one at school could stand against Pi Han Ui's power. He also cautioned Ga-min about pursuing his study group idea amidst such turmoil.
Following the incident, Han-gyeong retrieves the book Ga-min inadvertently left behind, nestled safely within her bag. As she retreats to the sanctity of her apartment, the notion of alerting the authorities crosses her mind. Just as her fingers hover over the phone's keypad, an unexpected visitor arrives—a member of Hyeon-wu's gang, seeking forgiveness at her doorstep. With a tone of resignation, he confides in her his plight, caught between a rock and a hard place, compelled by circumstances beyond his control.
The subsequent day at school, a pall of disappointment hangs over Se-hyeon and Ga-min, as their study group remains an uncharted territory with not a single signup in sight. The episode teeters on the brink of despair before a glimmer of hope emerges—an application from a female student. To their astonishment, they realize that Yusung Technical High School is, in fact, a coeducational institution, a revelation that adds an unexpected twist to their tale.
