In Episode 2 of "Such Brave Girls," Josie finds herself reluctantly venturing into a bar to confront a boyfriend she's inadvertently neglected—a reunion orchestrated solely by her mother's conviction that he holds the key to her happiness. Seb, her beau in question, persists in blaming her lingering distrust towards men (a lingering scar from her father's decade-old departure) for her emotional distance. Josie yearns to end their relationship, yet Seb stubbornly refuses to accept her decision.
Spotting a sign suggesting to seek Angela in cases of rejection refusal, Josie seeks her out, and the bar staff swiftly intervenes to extricate her from the tangled situation.
Elsewhere, Deb reassures Dev that Josie's encounter with Seb is a step in the right direction. "She's still grappling with discovering her true self and desires, and it's not a pretty sight," Deb declares, convinced that Seb, with his stable presence, is exactly what Josie needs.
Just then, Sid, a bar employee, introduces herself to Josie, sparking an unexpected competition of sharing traumas, culminating in a near-kiss that sends Josie scurrying away. Despite her flight, Josie is convinced that Sid is her soulmate and resolves to finally put an end to her tumultuous relationship with Seb.
Meanwhile, Josie enlists Billie's help by asking her to take a pregnancy test, which turns out positive. Billie, now faced with the reality, resolves to keep her distance from Nicky, fearing that revealing her pregnancy might scare him away. At her workplace at the Kidz Cauldron, she bombards him with messages, urging him to stay away.
Before accompanying Josie to the bar where Sid is employed, Billie insists that Josie give her a hickey, hoping to ignite Nicky's jealousy. However, when Nicky invites her to the club, Billie hesitates and attempts to remove the mark with a nail file, only to turn it into a painful, bloody mess. As they prepare to leave, Billie tries to cheer Josie up by dwelling on their shared trauma, which previously bonded them with Sid. Unfortunately for Josie, Sid reveals that her therapist advised against bonding over trauma so soon, prompting her to steer the conversation elsewhere. Josie, struggling to think of anything else, flees once more when Sid urges her to explore her identity first.
Dev invites Deb to dinner with his boss and his wife, who shockingly inform Deb that Dev's wife has passed away. Overwhelmed by the revelation, Deb inadvertently shares during dinner that her husband also died, praising him as a wonderful man. This unexpected connection brings Dev and Deb even closer.
Billie visits Nicky at the club, but her hopes are dashed when she realizes he only wants her to take responsibility for the drugs the bouncers found on him. Unperturbed by this, she gladly accepts ejection in his stead, pleased that he still considers her his girlfriend.
Unbeknownst to Billie, Deb confides that the last thing she wants is to become pregnant again, as her pregnancy with Josie trapped her with their father for 18 years. Misinterpreting Deb's words as encouragement for her own situation, Billie decides to reveal her pregnancy to Nicky. Initially thinking she's role-playing, Nicky is less than thrilled when he realizes it's true.
Josie asks Seb if he knows who she is, receiving only a vague response that she's his girlfriend. Feeling silly for her previous doubts, Josie concludes that her numbness with Seb must signify that they're right for each other.
