For the time being, Gus and Bear settle into their makeshift hideout, watching the animals frolic freely across the rolling plains as they play the game of I Spy. But the lighthearted game is abruptly interrupted when Gus's beloved teddy bear, Dog, goes missing. To make matters worse, a mechanic suddenly appears on the scene, sparking a tense confrontation with Jepp.

Amidst the chaos, the trio realizes with alarm that Gus has vanished. They discover that he has hurried up the train in a desperate search for Dog. This unexpected revelation also sheds light on Jepp's past, revealing that he once had a wife and child. This revealing moment adds a layer of complexity to Jepp's character, showing that he too has a memorable journey of his own in this season of Sweet Tooth. It soon transpires that Jepp and Bear discover the Last Men are actually in command of this train, situated in the adjoining carriage and swiftly approaching them.

With limited options, Jimmy makes a bold decision to impersonate one of the Last Men, slipping into the uniform that hung inconspicuously earlier. However, the plan quickly unravels, particularly when they unveil a wanted poster bearing his likeness.

As Jepp hurriedly scrambles back to their carriage, he proudly displays Gus's beloved teddy bear. He has managed to reunite Dog with them after all! Jimmy vows to hold the door, buying the trio precious seconds to leap off the speeding train.

Meanwhile, General Abbott manages to stumble upon Bell's book and prepares to make his escape. But Adi intervenes, revealing a startling revelation - he possesses a cure. Abbott is immediately halted in his tracks as Adi confesses he has deciphered the secret through the utilization of ghost DNA.

With Adi's head filled to the brim with knowledge, Abbot grudgingly allows him to pursue his desires. However, it transpires that Adi's assertions are deceitful. He lacks the complete picture, especially with the notes in shambles, and this time, his resources are merely borrowed and precarious.

At the zoo, Aimee's heart races as she perceives the Last Men closing in on them. The pink ribbons, like ominous harbingers, foretell of impending doom. She strives to maintain composure, urging Wendy to place her trust in her as an unwelcome visitor comes into view on the CCTV cameras.

Realizing that their stay in the Preserve is no longer tenable, the pair hurriedly gathers their belongings and prepares for departure. With the other hybrid children in tow, Aimee remains behind for the moment, while her daughter, Bobby, and the other children continue onward.

As the episode draws to a close, Gus, Bear, and The Big Man finally arrive in Essex County, Colorado. It seems that this journey is nearing its conclusion, yet the future remains fraught with uncertainty and danger.
