Episode 4 of Sweet Tooth season 2 kicks off with a vibrant scene in Factory Town, where the villagers, blissfully unaware of the truth, are celebrating with abandon, believing they have found a cure. The jubilation is all the more poignant given the hollowness of their joy; for the cure they cherish is a mere illusion.

Sweet Tooth – Season 2 Episode 4 1

Amidst this festive chaos, Aimee and Jepp, privy to the real situation, are in a race against time. Aimee meets her shadowy contacts, the Air Lords - mercenaries whose loyalties are solely dictated by gold. Their conversation is cut short as Jepp and Aimee are ambushed on their way to the docks, abducted, and whisked away from the jubilant town.

Elsewhere, the children confront Gus, accusing him of lying about Roy's fate. Gus confesses, explaining that his deception was solely aimed at protecting them. But his words fall on deaf ears. The children have lost trust in him and resolutely decide to forge ahead with their escape plan without his involvement. They reason that Gus's frequent interactions with the scientists may spare him from harm.

In the lab, Adi Singh is a man possessed, frantically searching for clues about the chickens, eggs, and their potential role in creating a cure. His preliminary tests seem to yield promising results. When he analyzes the data, it appears that the virus has been successfully eradicated from the test subject!

Rani enters the lab, and Adi excitedly whispers his discovery to her. He reveals that he's discovered a genuine cure and is eager to prepare the first dose for her, promising freedom from the virus's clutches. However, his jubilation is short-lived as Rani notices the bloodstains on his clothes and suspects that he might have killed a hybrid to obtain the cure. Her suspicions are soon confirmed.

Meanwhile, Jepp and Aimee are brought to Dolly, the mercenaries' ruthless leader. Aimee pleads with Dolly to help them rescue the children, but Dolly remains unmoved until Jepp offers a tantalizing prospect - the riches that await them inside the mysterious Zoo, including a tank that could be a game-changer. Dolly and her mercenaries are soon enticed by the promise of such valuable spoils, and they agree to join the mission. As Rufus constantly ruffles Jepp's feathers throughout their planning session, he even finds the time to demean Aimee. This provocation finally prompts Jepp to lash out and beat him down, only to be interrupted by Dolly brandishing a gun and forcing him outside. The source of Jepp's pent-up aggression lies in his haunting past, where he was haunted by the ghosts of his actions as one of the men listed as a "Hybrid Catcher". He's tormented by the uncertainty of whether he was the one who took the children, but he must live with the fact that he tore families apart to secure his own position. Aimee, upon learning this truth from him, is deeply disheartened and walks away in disgust.

Meanwhile, Becky arrives at boot camp for the Last Men, ready to face the challenges ahead. Lou, the camp's commander, organizes the new recruits and quickly recognizes Becky's exceptional shooting skills. He takes a keen interest in her and predicts that she will one day make a fine soldier. Becky keeps her cassette hidden as she prepares for the rigorous training that lies ahead.

Back in the cages, Bobby confides in Gus, admitting that he trusts him implicitly. Using the pliers that Gus managed to sneak in during their previous encounter, Bobby manages to remove his collar. Determined to find help, he decides to sneak through the tunnels in search of assistance.

General Abbot returns to the Zoo, his anger barely contained as he learns of the chaos that has unfolded under Johnny's watch. "Why do you make me regret trusting you?" he growls, before storming away. Johnny, seeking solace, turns to Rani, who is still shaken by the events surrounding Adi. It is here that he confesses a shocking revelation: General Abbot is his brother. Worse still, Rani now requires an escort for her own safety.

As for Abbott, he engaged in a candid conversation with Adi, learning that Adi had discovered a cure, utilizing Teddy's assistance in the process, thereby breaking the sacred promise he had made to Gus. Despite this revelation, Abbott took possession of the cure, declaring that Adi's freedom was not yet at hand. Instead, he prolonged Adi's agony further, even inviting him to a dinner that evening.

During the dinner, the atmosphere was anything but cozy. Rani, sensing the tension, encouraged Johnny to join them, arguing that this was a family dinner after all. The group toasted and ate together, but the awkward silence and underlying tension were palpable. Abbott seemed to enjoy stoking the flames, emphasizing the importance of family and the lengths one must go to in order to survive.

Their meal was abruptly interrupted as fate intervened. The Three, the mysterious figures Abbot had been eager to meet earlier in the season, finally agreed to a meeting. Rani's skepticism of Abbot deepened, convinced that he was truly insane. Her suspicions were further fueled when Adi confessed that he was starting to see Abbot's point of view.

Meanwhile, the guards decided to torment the children trapped in cages with tasers. Gus, however, intervened, charging at one of the men and breaking free from his cage. He attempted to flee, but his escape was cut short when he collided with General Abbot, who smiled menacingly, his glasses reflecting the fire's glow. "It's so nice to meet you, Gus," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Bobby, on the other hand, managed to escape through the drains, making a mockery of the "Shawshank Redemption" scenario as he fled. Simultaneously, Becky joined the soldiers as they prepared to storm a house rumored to house hybrid children.

Jepp's past confession came back to haunt him as Aimee made the difficult decision to leave him behind on her mission to rescue the children. She believed that Gus would be better off without Jepp's influence, and so she took off in a helicopter, ready to face the challenges ahead. Jepperd, however, was not about to let things lie. He decided to take matters into his own hands and embarked on a journey in a van, determined to make amends for his past mistakes.
