Ted Lasso - Season 3 Episode 10 1

Inside the locker room, Ted's announcement of the break's absence of fixtures for the coming week resonates with the players. Names like Jamie Tartt for England, Van Damme for Canada, Dani Rojas for Mexico, Bumbercatch for Switzerland, and Colin for Wales are called out, yet a conspicuous silence follows when Sam's name fails to echo for Nigeria. Jamie, now a transformed individual, checks in on Sam, offering a concerned inquiry.

In Rebecca's office, the trio of boss, Ted, and Trent delve into Nathan's perplexing departure. Just then, Leslie enters, announcing Edwin Akufo's return to town with a vision of a Super League, pitting the wealthiest teams against each other. Rebecca's thoughts wander to Rupert's possible involvement, only to be interrupted by a call from him, which she promptly dismisses.

Jade visits her boyfriend, discovering Nathan's resignation. She offers words of comfort and then embarks on a journey to Poland, leaving the premises as a small throng of reporters attempts to unearth the truth about Nate.

Keeley arrives at work, a shock awaiting her as Barbara reveals that the VC board has decided to shut down her company. Jack's 'intended' email informing her of this news had failed to arrive. She retreats to her office, her emotions spilling over.

Meanwhile, in the air, Van Damme offers Dani Rojas a snack of chips, only to witness the latter crush them beneath his fist. It seems that Rojas is treating Mexico's clash against Canada with the utmost gravity.

The three coaches convene, discussing Sam's predicament. Ted attempts to bolster the player's spirits in his signature manner, while Beard reveals his plans to celebrate the ill fortune that has befallen Nate. Ted, however, finds himself in a more conflicted state.

As Rebecca encountered Sam, she extended a warm heartfelt sympathy to him. However, her joy of seeing him was fleeting as Rupert awaited her in her office. Unexpectedly, he extended an invitation to her for the Akufo League's meeting. She probed Rupert about Nathan, but as usual, he remained elusive.

Meanwhile, Roy stumbled upon a party hat perched atop his head as his sister and Phoebe celebrated Uncle's Day. Suddenly, Jamie appeared, having been invited by Phoebe. Since Roy spent so much time with him, Phoebe concluded they must be bosom buddies. As a token of friendship, Jamie presented Roy with his original England jersey from the 2014 World Cup, a gift that moved Roy deeply. Phoebe, on the other hand, gifted him a vibrant tie-dye t-shirt.

Sam walked into his restaurant, only to find it deserted save for Edwin Akufo and a food blogger from The Times. Sam bore the brunt of their insults and later learned that Edwin had bribed the Nigerian government to keep Sam off the team.

In the wee hours of the night, Nathan made his way to his parents' abode, while Rebecca sought Leslie's counsel on the Akufo League's enigmatic situation. Leslie urged her to attend the meeting regardless, urging her to see what it held.

Keeley, sitting alone in a bar, received a text from Jack, informing her that there was nothing she could have done. She then engaged in a conversation with Mae, discussing the challenges of being a boss.

Roy's entrance into the Richmond office was a sight to behold. All eyes were glued to him, thanks to the vibrant red, orange, and yellow tie-dye shirt Phoebe had gifted him. The sight left everyone, including the coaches and Trent, speechless.

Later, the team eagerly gathered to witness the Mexico-Canada match. In the heat of the game, Dani unleashed a powerful kick, directly striking Van Damme's nose, shattering it in an instant.

In her serene office, Rebecca gently extracted the green matchbook and the tiny toy soldier that adorned her desk. She informed Rupert that she would be attending the crucial Afuko meeting.

As the bus driver made his way out, he noticed the striking resemblance between his and Roy's shirts. Irritated, Roy promptly stripped off his tee and hurled it to the ground, but soon returned, driven by a sense of regret.

Meanwhile, Nathan remained secluded in his room, a mystery unto himself. As Roy dropped Phoebe off at school, he encountered her teacher, Ms. Bowen. She observed that he seemed less "entrenched" than during their previous encounter. Her comment about Roy's previous tumultuous state and whether he had created chaos around him seemed to trigger a profound realization in Roy's mind.

Keeley graciously visits Barbara, presenting her with a Richmond snow globe as a token of appreciation for her diligent efforts. As Rebecca arrives at the designated meeting venue, she soon encounters Rupert, accompanied by a fresh face, his new assistant. They join the rest of the gathering, and shortly after, Edwin enters, thoughtfully arranging a feast for all.

At home, Nathan delves into his childhood photo albums, uncovering a violin nestled in the attic. With a spark of curiosity, he picks it up and attempts to pluck the strings.

Once the meal comes to an end, Edwin reveals his proposal for a new league, touting it as a lucrative scheme. However, its profitability comes with a price, excluding those less fortunate from participating. When Rupert seeks Rebecca's input, she lambasts them all for their greed, accusing them of robbing the love of football from its devoted fans. She recounts a tale of a young boy, sneaking into a stadium only to be ejected, but returning years later to purchase the entire club. The allusion to Rupert is unmistakable. Edwin is displeased by her impassioned speech and abruptly departs, leaving the meeting in disarray with food strewn across their attire.

As the team watches the international match, they catch a glimpse of Jamie wearing the number 24 on his jersey, a silent tribute to Sam. Nathan's father stumbles upon him playing the violin and reminisces about the joy of hearing his son's music. They engage in a heartfelt conversation, addressing the pressure Nathan felt from his father's lofty expectations. The man admits his fault and offers a heartfelt apology, revealing that his sole wish is for Nathan to be content and happy.

After the crowd dissipated, Rupert and Rebecca stood alone in the silent room. Rupert ventured forward, intent on stealing a kiss, but Rebecca halted him with a subtle gesture.

Roy, on the other hand, attempted to slip a letter beneath Keeley's front door, but she caught him red-handed. She seized the letter, yet its contents remained a mystery due to Roy's scribbled handwriting. Thus, he reluctantly read aloud, confessing his role in creating turmoil and offering an apology if he ever made her feel inadequate. His words concluded with a confession of love.

Nathan's mood had transformed as he engaged in a card game with his parents, a far cry from his earlier disposition.

Rebecca visited Keeley, celebrating her triumph in convincing a roomful of elderly gentlemen to abandon the Akufo League. As Keeley opened up about her own challenges, Rebecca, in a gesture of profound generosity, offered to finance her company. Suddenly, Keeley's composure faltered as she recounted Rupert's attempted kiss, only to be interrupted by Roy emerging from the room, clad in a bathrobe. Their eyes met briefly, acknowledging each other's presence.

Will arrived at the locker room, expecting to find his kit man's work undone. Instead, he stumbled upon an apology note from Nathan.

Keeley rejoiced in her return to work, all thanks to Rebecca's intervention. Barbara soon appeared, returning the snow globe and announcing her resignation from Jack's company to become Keeley's CFO. A heartfelt hug sealed their partnership.

In her office, Rebecca confided in Ted, revealing a change of heart. She desired victory, but not solely for Rupert's sake; it was for all of them.
