The Rookie - Season 6 Episode 2 1

With just 24 hours to go before their wedding, Nolan and Bailey are scrambling to get everything in order. They're about to step out when Henry calls Bailey, informing her he might be late due to a canceled flight. Frantically, Bailey seeks a Plan B without letting Nolan know and avoid his inevitable panic. To add to the chaos, Chastity and Randy arrive unexpectedly, promising nothing but unexpected drama.

Pete, unfortunately, misses the wedding due to an arrest stemming from unpaid parking tickets. He sends his girlfriend and Randy in his stead, who Nolan and Bailey warmly welcome into their home. Nolan promptly informs Randy that there'll be no bachelor party, but that doesn't deter these two from causing mischief.

When Nolan and Bailey meet their wedding planner, they're informed that the new venue requires upgraded plans. The planner, facing her own personal struggles, accepts Bailey and Nolan's offer of help. However, their mission to meet the DJ and make a down payment ends in disaster as Nolan arrests him for confessing to crimes and attempting to sell drugs.

Matters worsen when Wesley reminds Nolan of a deposition he was to attend. Oscar is suing Nolan for gross negligence during his kidney operation, and his lawyer, Monica, insists that Nolan hand over his phone, which she believes contains evidence of the crime. Cornered, Nolan agrees, leaving his phone behind and rushing to assist Bailey with the wedding preparations. However, he decides to keep the legal issues from her, and now both are harboring secrets from each other.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Wade and his wife seem content despite her lie about returning to complete her psychology degree. Wade remains proud of her and supports her aspiration to better herself and the lives of those around her. She has been a steadfast pillar for Thorsen, who, however, continues to struggle and refuses to share his struggles with his new therapist. He fears it will hinder his return to the field, relying more heavily on Juarez. Harper warns Juarez to be cautious, advising her not to get overwhelmed by her trauma bond with Thorsen.

Regarding Harper, her current charge is overseeing Juarez's training, as Nolan is on sabbatical. A nickname for Juarez is still pending, but it's inevitable that one will emerge. Juarez, with trepidation and a desire to shine, strives to impress Harper. However, the path to proving herself is fraught with challenges. Her inaugural case with Harper revolves around a canine heroin poisoning case, where the dog ingested the drug from a planter belonging to its owner. They summon the planter's seller, but he feigns ignorance. Juarez fails to extract a confession, and Harper and Lopez seize the opportunity for a lesson, thoroughly enjoying their little prank.

On another note, the ChenFord duo walks a tightrope. Bradford feels Chen is wrongly accusing him of fretting over her undercover aspirations. Their partnership is necessitated when Randy and Chastity mistakenly pawn Bailey's wedding ring. Hammer, the buyer, demands a one-on-one confrontation in exchange for the ring's return. Despite Hammer's outstanding warrant, its legality in his possession precludes its use as leverage. In a grueling fight, Bradford prevails, securing the ring and Hammer's arrest. Exhausted, Bradford collapses after the victory.

As the wedding approaches, a series of minor mishaps occur. The florist cancels the order due to repeated failed attempts to contact the couple. Nolan assures Bailey to remain calm and calls upon his male colleagues to create new floral arrangements. However, Bailey's nerves are frayed when the bakery delivers an incorrect cake prematurely. She rallies her female friends to assist in baking a cake that Nolan is not allergic to.

These encounters provide clarity and counsel for some. Bradford summons Chen to the station, determined to prove his unwavering composure. He agrees to a lie detector test and realizes that Chen's undercover role truly unnerves him.

Finally, the wedding day dawns, and all seemingly minor crises are averted. Yet, a surprise awaits. The priest's absence prompts Wade to officiate. The couple exchanges heartfelt vows and is united in matrimony. The celebrations continue, but Thorsen misinterprets Juarez's promise of support. He moves to kiss her, but she pulls away, clarifying the misunderstanding. Thorsen, hurt, turns to excessive drinking, causing Bradford and Chen to fret.

Concurrently, Juarez receives a frantic call from the planter vendor, now eager to divulge secrets amidst the perilous threat to his life. Without hesitation, she rushes to his aid, yet fatefully, she too falls victim to the unseen grasp. Fortuitously, she manages to dial Harper's number, relaying the dire situation before being seized. Nolan, a man of swift action, apologizes hastily to Bailey and rushes to Juarez's rescue. Bailey, a compassionate wife, understands his urgency. The team mobilizes with precision, successfully rescuing both Juarez and the planter vendor from the clutches of danger.

The morning dawns, and Nolan returns home to find Bailey still slumbering, exhausted from the events of the night before. Overjoyed that all are safe, they eagerly anticipate their impending honeymoon. However, as they both succumb to sleep, it becomes apparent that they will likely miss their flight, a minor inconvenience in the wake of their triumph.
