The Rookie - Season 6 Episode 8 1

Grey entrusts Lucy with the role of acting Today's Officer (TO) for the day, and as a token of support, pairs her with Celina. Coincidentally, Bradford bumps into Blair in the elevator, reminiscing about their past as colleagues from Metro. Grey, noticing their interaction, advises Bradford to mend his relationship with Lucy, warning that he would have to reassign someone else if the tension persists, preferring to keep Lucy on his team.

Bailey and Nolan make their way to the hospital for fertility evaluations, but are quickly diverted by the chaos unfolding. Luna braces for a surge of patients as a gang war between the Russians and an opposing faction leaves rival gangs converging on the hospital. Shockingly, they learn that the leader of one of the gangs has been assassinated, signaling the potential for explosive reactions. A woman, armed with a gun, enters the fray, targeting the same man who had assaulted Smitty, leading to Nolan and Chen's intervention. Nolan manages to apprehend her, but narrowly escapes a bullet, its impact ringing in his ears. Amidst all this commotion, Bailey misses her appointment.

Bradford and Thorsen are assigned surveillance duties prior to a Metro raid. Thorsen, inquisitive about Lucy's well-being and Bradford's intentions, presses for details, even revealing that he has a birthday gift for her. They return to Metro to brief their superiors, but Bradford's observations about potential flaws in the target building are dismissed by Mad Dog, who is still reeling from feelings of betrayal.

As the Metro raids unfolded, they gathered to witness the unfolding drama, unaware that an explosion would rock the scene while the officers were still inside. Monica, despite not being required, remained at the hospital overtime, her sole purpose to confront the man who had attempted to end her life, seeking vital information. The doctor's counsel to Bailey resonated deeply, urging her to consider IVF as an option.

Bradford, updating the team on the severity of the booby trap and its aftermath, found himself in a candid conversation with Grey, both suspecting the presence of a mole within their ranks and determined to keep it undisclosed. His encounter with Mad Dog was fraught with tension, as Mad Dog seemed poised to utter the words, "I told you so."

Blair's unexpected visit to check on Mad Dog only added to the intrigue, her presence at the station or the constant departure of her patients piquing Bradford's suspicion that she might indeed be the mole.

In an unexpected turn of events, Nolan stumbled upon a group of men in the bathroom, arms loaded with weapons, preparing to take on another gang. The gunshots rang out suddenly, leaving the others scrambling to his aid as a standoff ensued. Amidst the chaos, a nurse fell victim to the bullets, and Bailey sprang into action, providing aid.

Meanwhile, Monica, undeterred by the tumult, marched into her attacker's hospital room, determined to uncover the truth. When he refused to divulge the identity of his master, she acted swiftly, injecting an air bubble into his tube, effectively ending his life. As she exited, her path crossed with Blair's, both women united in purpose, though each harboring different intentions.

Tim, employing Kojo as a messenger, slipped a card into Lucy's hands, a gesture that deeply moved her. Mad Dog's summons to the rooftop left Tim with a sense of foreboding. As they spoke, Mad Dog confessed that the events had spiraled out of control, apologizing profusely for the unintended casualties. He revealed that his accomplice knew all of his secrets, the identity of which was none other than Blair. Suddenly, Mad Dog stumbled over the railing, his fall fatal, yet the manner of his death hinted at a larger plot to frame Bradford.

In the aftermath of this turmoil, Bailey made a momentous decision, rejecting the option of IVF, choosing instead to embrace the uncertainty that life had thrown at her.
