Truth Seekers – Season 1 Episode 2 1

In the present day, Elton stands at a crossroads, torn between the thrill of exploring the paranormal with Gus and the doubts that plague him. At work, Dave's accolades for Gus's relentless efforts fall flat on Elton, who finds himself relegated to the fringes as number 28.

Gus, determined to reignite Elton's passion, invites him to his abode, unveiling a treasure trove of The White Sheet magazine. He zeroes in on a particular page, highlighting the ominous 1-star ghoul rating of the hotel they had planned to visit. Amidst these revelations, Gus's father is gently admonished to keep his hands off Gus's belongings, unaware that Astrid has stealthily slipped from the van, her mission to infiltrate Gus's sanctuary.

As Elton and Gus embark on their journey, the veil is lifted on Gus's tragic past—the loss of his wife, a wound he guards jealously. Meanwhile, Elton's own struggles are revealed; his sister, an agoraphobic, a silent reminder of life's complexities.

Their destination: The Portland Beacon, a hotel that eerily echoes the opening scene of the episode. Elton's eyes are immediately drawn to a presence lurking behind a painting, only to discover it's a mischievous prank orchestrated by the hotel's proprietor, Jack.

As Jack guides them through the hotel, showcasing the broadband's whereabouts, they inadvertently stumble upon a room shrouded in green tape, exuding an unnatural chill and a maze of tangled wires. Yet, the hotelier dismisses any connection to the erratic broadband signal, leaving a lingering sense of unease that echoes through the corridors.

Elton stumbles upon an eccentric individual named Byron, who asserts that some unseen force is disrupting the broadband signal. As Byron departs, the door to Room 2 eerily creaks open, its beckoning presence luring Elton in.

Concurrently, Richard, perched at Gus's desk, snickers at the Truth Seekers YouTube channel, deeming it mere superstition. Switching channels abruptly, he lands on Helen's makeup tutorials, oblivious to the flurry of events around him. Unnoticed, Astrid dashes by, her gaze locked on two peculiar apparitions that haunt her vision.

Gus, in a relentless pursuit of Elton, is halted by the inexplicably locked door to Room 2. Fortunately, Jack lends a helping hand, revealing Elton concealed beneath the bedsheets, his ears still ringing with those ominous, recurring numbers.

The realization of a possible paranormal encounter dawns on Gus, propelling him to race back for his equipment. And just as Byron's timely arrival reveals a secret passage leading to the basement, the duo discovers a skeletal remains and the same cheerful melody emanating from behind a door. As they push it open, flickering lights and a silent radio greet them, fueling Gus's belief that a human spirit is trapped within the machinery, echoing the numbers and causing the radio interference.

With skillful persuasion, Gus assures the trapped spirit that the war is long over, and miraculously, the machine grinds to a halt, accompanied by a restoration of the broadband connection.

Outside, Elton bids adieu to the enigmatic "Professor" Byron, their footsteps echoing as they make their way home. However, something remains amiss as Elton's fabricated story about his origins stumbles. Their conversation interrupted, Astrid frantically arrives, seeking refuge from ghostly pursuers, her eyes wide with terror.
