Later that day, the women from the community go to a local mall to buy groceries for Issac's funeral. Rosie slips away to a tech store to look up Sam's information and learns that he was imprisoned for the murder of a teenage girl named Aisling.

At Issac's funeral, Adam struggles to come to terms with his loss, blaming himself for what happened with Sam. Sam tries to comfort him and leads him outside, where Adam reluctantly takes over the funeral service.

At the fellowship center, Rosie asks Sam to tell her the truth. Sam confesses that he killed his girlfriend Aisling when she wanted to leave him. He breaks down and explains that he served his sentence but was later attacked in prison by Aisling's cousin, whom he killed in self-defense. Sam reveals that the tattoo on his wrist marks the date of Aisling's death.

Rosie shows sympathy and tells him to seek forgiveness from God. They pray together while Grace and Anthony play outside at night.
