Unmasked – K-drama Episode 10 1

Hae-won's plea for assistance resonates with a haunting clarity. She utters words that foreshadow a grim fate, suggesting that "they," an implicit reference to the omnipotent Hanju Group, bear responsibility should anything untoward befall her in the imminent future.

Cut to the present, where Han Do and Oh So-ryong stand helplessly witness to a harrowing tragedy. Hae-won's workshop erupts in flames, engulfing not only the structure but also a figure within its confines. The intensity of the explosion underscores the gravity of the unfolding events.

Later, Jin-man meticulously photographs a ring discovered on Hae-won's charred remains. Outside the hospital, So-ryong and Han Do anxiously await Jin-man's next move. So-ryong inquiries about the possibility of an autopsy, prompting Jin-man to order his men to open the coffin and reveal Hae-won's tragic fate.

Jin-man's ostentatious display of brotherly affection serves as a stark contrast to his subsequent actions. Behind closed doors, by his father's bedside, he celebrates Hae-won's demise with a chilling glee. In a cold, calculated move, he then places a call to President Koo, inquiring about the timing of the announcement regarding Cho Tae-su's death.

Meanwhile, Koo finds himself in a sauna, in the company of Prosecutor Lee Jong-geun. He vows to uncover the root of the problem — pointing directly at So-ryong — before proceeding with any revelations. The scene paints a picture of intrigue and betrayal, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats, eager to see how this web of deceit will unravel.Amidst the pressing urgency surrounding Lee Yu-mi's case, So-ryong makes a swift decision to broadcast her episode ahead of schedule. Just then, Koo bursts into the office, brandishing a court summons directed at So-ryong, accusing her of employing unethical interview tactics that contributed to Hae-won's untimely demise. Concurrently, the news of Cho Tae-su's passing breaks, and Koo lays the blame for both tragedies squarely on So-ryong's shoulders. Determined, So-ryong films her Trigger episode and promptly proceeds to the police station.

Back at KNS, Koo vigorously lobbies the department heads to axe Trigger. Following the contentious meeting, Han Do unveils a bombshell to Koo, Manager Son, and Park Dae-young: he is, in fact, Dr. Trigger (pertaining to the initial post). He reminds Koo of their pact with So-ryong and asserts that he cannot nullify Trigger now, given So-ryong's victorious wager. Furthermore, he returns the credit card Koo had entrusted him with and dangles the threat of exposing their clandestine recording.

At the police station, So-ryong undergoes rigorous questioning by a detective summoned by Prosecutor Lee Jong-geun. The detective drops a startling revelation: So-ryong's informant regarding Hae-won was her deceased husband, thereby entangling yet another fatality with her. Hours tick by, and as she exits the precinct, she encounters Han Do. He confesses that revealing his identity as Dr. Trigger was a last-ditch effort to salvage the show, but So-ryong remains skeptical of its efficacy.

That fateful night, Koo rescinds the scheduled Trigger episode featuring Lee Yu-mi. So-ryong, fury etched across her face, confronts Koo and recites the statutes that render his actions illegal. In response, Koo pulls a ace from his sleeve, revealing that he holds dirt on every member of the Trigger team and warns of exposure if So-ryong doesn't confess to the coercive interviews.

She returns to the Trigger office, where the audit team has left behind a chaotic scene. Having discovered that Han Do is indeed Dr. Trigger, Gi-ho accuses him of being the cause of this disarray. Han Do departs, leaving So-ryong to apologize to the others for keeping them in the dark. Afterwards, So-ryong gently reminds Gi-ho of the time when Han Do stood by his side when he compromised his own principles.

Outside the office, Han Do catches sight of So-ryong sobbing quietly in her car and slips a small, encouraging note onto her windshield, hoping to lift her spirits.

Elsewhere, Hong Na-hee finally pens a script that earns her supervisor's approval. Soon after, she learns that So-ryong has agreed to address the media. On the podium, So-ryong delivers a formal apology for the troubles stemming from Trigger's interview methods and announces her resignation. However, she reveals that this was merely a scripted statement she was instructed to read. With a pen recorder in hand, she plays Cho Hae-won's recording, where Hae-won urges So-ryong to keep a watchful eye on Hanju and warns that anyone attempting to cancel the show will be implicated in her demise. She pledges to the public that they will continue their pursuit of the truth unwaveringly.

Despite this brave stance, Koo informs So-ryong that she will face demotion. Undeterred, she hands Koo an official complaint detailing his broadcasting misconduct. Later, the Trigger team presses on with their work, now without So-ryong. Gi-ho makes an effort to reconcile with Han Do as well. Just then, a woman enters the Trigger office with a floral arrangement for So-ryong, sent by Cho Hae-won. To everyone's surprise, they learn that So-ryong has been reassigned to the unglamorous task of cleaning an ice hockey arena.
