With only a scant few episodes left, the compelling drama of "Why Women Kill" returns, poised to deliver yet another wave of thrilling twists and turns in its trio of intricate narratives. Each conclusion teases with captivating cliffhangers, eagerly anticipating the final round of high-octane drama next week. Intensifying the drama of the 2019 storyline, "Why Women Kill" seems destined to conclude with a rousing crescendo, rather than a meek fade-out.

Why Women Kil – Season 1 Episode 8 1

Our narrative commences, as customary, with our trio of supporting characters divulging their deepest sins. In 1963, Beth Ann confesses a lie to a startled Sheila, then cunningly leads her to Enzo, Sheila's nephew. Enzo skillfully spins a tale of cancer, outlining basic symptoms to deceive Rob. Upon returning home, Beth Ann tells Rob she has merely six months to live. Meanwhile, Alice makes the daring decision to abort her pregnancy despite Beth Ann's fervent pleas. Sitting in the lounge, Alice reveals she once had a child, which is enough to sway April's resolve, convincing her to keep the baby. As she discusses her plans with Sheila, Alice declares her intention to adopt and raise the child herself. Disgusted, Sheila storms off, unable to bear any more of Alice's manipulative schemes. April, however, reveals the truth to Rob, leaving Beth Ann's lies exposed. Soon after, Beth Ann learns through a phone call with April that Rob has proposed to her and plans to leave Beth Ann in six months—the exact timeframe Beth Ann had falsely claimed she had left to live.

In 1984, Simone and Tommy prepare for their trip, but their visions for the journey diverge sharply. Worried about the expense, Simone advises Tommy to exchange their brooch for a more personal expression of love—a suggestion that leads him to a tattoo parlor. While Karl and Simone maintain a facade of happiness, indulging in a lavish meal, Maureen confronts Simone in the bathroom, revealing Karl's homosexuality. Simone dismisses the news until Maureen drops the bombshell that Karl is also terminally ill. Confronting Karl about his condition, Simone holds his hand and vows not to abandon him. This revelation does not bode well for Tommy, especially considering it spells the end of their relationship. Shortly thereafter, Tommy is involved in a car accident, prompting Simone to rush to the hospital. However, due to restrictions allowing only family inside, Simone waits anxiously outside. Tommy's mother enters and sees a tattoo of Simone's face on his leg, finally realizing the truth behind their relationship. She promises Simone that she will regret this revelation.

In the fateful year of 2019, Taylor encountered Jade, and their alliance was forged with a mischievous plan to hack into Eli's phone, curbing his lavish spending sprees when intoxicated. Shortly after, Jade observed Eli's indulgence firsthand, as he lavished her with a brand-new car. Disgruntled, Taylor confronted Jade, sparking a heated argument. Yet, Jade stood her ground, refusing to budge and cunningly maneuvered Eli to go to extreme lengths to evict Taylor from her life.

However, Taylor had a devious plan in mind. She visited Jade's former love, incarcerated in prison, and promised to set him free in exchange for any intel on Jade. Little did she know that Jade's identity was a mere facade, and as the episode drew to a close, she blocked Taylor's number on Eli's phone.

Once again, Why Women Kill delivered a captivating and brilliantly crafted episode. The intricate weaving of these three narratives, following a similar plot arc week after week, is nothing short of artistic brilliance. While adhering to a familiar narrative structure, the show has managed to infuse it with a unique style and charm.

Why Women Kill has become one of my indulgences this year. Having indulged in every episode of Sex and the City and dabbled in Desperate Housewives, this slightly over-the-top yet impeccably written show will leave me with a heavy heart when the final credits roll. But for now, the drama is poised to unfold with even greater intensity—I eagerly await the next Thursday night!
