Father Cooper isn't quite ready to embark on the journey of becoming a mother yet. A year after tying the knot with Matt Kaplan, Alex Cooper, the host of the popular podcast "Call Her Daddy," shed some rare light on their aspirations to start a family during the June 4th episode of her show. "We made the ultimate decision last summer to start trying for pregnancy," the 30-year-old revealed. "And we were over the moon with excitement."

Shortly thereafter, Alex and Matt began preparing for the potential arrival of a new member to their 'daddy gang.' "We initiated plans to renovate our house, envisioning a cozy nursery and upstairs bedrooms for our future kids," she recounted. "We shared the news with our families. Our date nights turned into heartfelt conversations about the joy of becoming parents and we even began narrowing down our favorite baby names."

However, discontinuing her birth control, which she had been using since the age of 16, took a significant toll on Alex's body. "I started experiencing severe vertigo and dizziness," she shared candidly. "During interviews, I felt like I was about to faint. I even fainted in the shower. I was incredibly emotional all the time, and it was incredibly frustrating."

As her menstrual cycle regulated, the physical symptoms worsened. "Four to five months passed, and I finally got my period back," she recounted, "but the cramps were so unbearable that my doctor suspected I might have PCOS."

It was then that a new thought crossed her mind: perhaps it wasn't the right time to embark on the journey of becoming a mother. "Despite all the frustration of things not going according to plan or our timeline for pregnancy, my career was thriving and had never been busier," Alex explained, hinting at her upcoming docuseries "Call Her Alex" which chronicles her first podcast tour. "Getting pregnant would inevitably mean slowing down."

"I'm not sure when it dawned on me, but after some introspection, I realized that I wasn't ready," she confessed. "And my husband completely understood where I was coming from."

"I know he's going to be an incredible father to our babies," she gushed. "I realized that I needed some more time to live life before entering the next beautiful chapter of my life."

She elaborated, "My body and mind were telling me that I wanted to put in the grind at work and be a little selfish for a while longer. I wanted to enjoy the fruits of my hard work. I wanted to go on weekend trips with my husband, indulge in our love, and have no responsibilities after a long workweek."

For now, Alex will embrace what she calls her "newlywed era" and see where life takes her. "I pray to God that I can get pregnant when the time is right," she added. "It may be a long road for my husband and me, but when we do decide that the time is ripe, we'll cross that bridge together."
