Hailee Steinfeld and Buffalo Bills' quarterback Josh Allen made their first official appearance as a couple, and they kept it incredibly under wraps. On October 12, the duo stepped out for the Buffalo Sabres' season opener against the New York Rangers at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Fans on social media captured photos and videos of the pair enjoying the NHL game in what seemed to be a luxurious suite.
The 26-year-old Steinfeld and 27-year-old Allen have been romantically linked since May, although neither has officially confirmed their relationship. However, photos published by TMZ on July 7 showed the pair locking lips during a Fourth of July weekend getaway in Mexico, sparking rumors of a romance. At that time, Steinfeld's representatives did not respond to POPSUGAR's request for confirmation, while Allen's reps remained unreachable.
During an August 2 interview on the podcast "Pardon My Take," Allen opened up about the speculation surrounding his relationship. "The fact that anybody cares about that still blows my mind," he said, expressing his discomfort with photographers' attempts to capture photos of him and Steinfeld during their July vacation. He further added that it gave him a "gross feeling," creating a sense of "insecurity" for them.
Rumors of a romantic relationship between the "Spider-Verse" star and the football player began to swirl after they were spotted together in New York City multiple times during Memorial Day weekend. Steinfeld and Allen were first photographed together in NYC on May 27, according to photos obtained by People magazine. Two days later, they were captured again, apparently on what seemed like a double date. A source close to Steinfeld told People in a May 29 report that the "cute couple" had been "hanging out for a few weeks" and described their relationship as "new, but they are having fun."
In June, another source told People that the pair were "still dating and getting to know each other." The insider added, "He's going to be very busy with training camp, though, so they're not putting too much pressure on things and will see where it goes."
Allen seemingly parted ways with his girlfriend of five years, Brittany Williams, sometime in 2023. In early May, Williams' friend Karlee Zacky captioned a photo of herself and Williams, jokingly accepting husband applications for Williams, in an Instagram Story that has since expired.
While Steinfeld tends to keep her romantic relationships private, she has previously been romantically linked to Niall Horan and Cameron Smoller.
