Fisher-Becker's husband, Tony, also publicly acknowledged the tragic event on Facebook, posting on the actor's account, "Hello everyone, this is Tony, Simon's husband. I must share some incredibly sorrowful news. At 2:50 this afternoon, Simon peacefully passed away."

"I will keep this account active for a little while longer. I'm unsure if I'll return to posting, but thank you all for your support," Tony's message concluded, heavy with grief.
