Hulk Hogan, the wrestling legend, candidly revealed in an interview for his new Netflix documentary, "Hulk Hogan: Real American," that there was a period in his life when he hit rock bottom and contemplated suicide following his divorce from his wife, Linda. This interview took place shortly before his death in July 2025.
In the interview, Hulk candidly shared that the bitter split from his wife left him emotionally shattered. He recounted, "I went home and I started drinking, started taking pills, and I just went down this rabbit hole for a couple of days. The next thing I knew, I was sitting in front of my bathroom with a gun in my mouth, not knowing what I was doing." He further added, "I hit rock bottom. I gave Linda 70% of everything because I just didn't want to ever talk to her again, be with her, or see her again."

When asked about the happiest moment in his life, Hulk revealed that he still looks back fondly on the early days of his marriage to Linda. The pair married in 1983 and Linda, the mother of his two children Brooke and Nick, filed for divorce in 2007, which was finalized two years later.
Linda also appears in the documentary and reveals that she never stopped loving her ex-husband, even after their divorce. Her feelings became clear after Hulk started experiencing health issues. She said, "I still care about him the same. It doesn't go away. I wish things would've turned out differently for us. But when he got sick, I realized that my love never faded for him. I still have love for him. I really do. I still love him."
The documentary revolves around Hulk Hogan's life and career and includes a previously unannounced interview with U.S. President Donald Trump filmed at the White House earlier this year. Director Bryan Storkel told TMZ Sports that Hulk played a direct role in arranging the meeting by contacting the U.S. president personally to secure his participation.
Bryan added that the process required persistence, explaining that it took a few calls for Hulk to convince the president to do the interview before Trump eventually agreed to sit down for a chat. "Hulk was supposed to go with us, but he ended up going in for surgery right before that," Bryan recalled. "I'm there on the phone with Hulk Hogan outside the Oval Office, and he was so excited we got the interview. That's the last phone call I had with him, actually," said the director about their meeting with Donald Trump.
