Jin reclaims ‘World Wide Handsome’ title

Jin, the eldest member of K-Pop sensation BTS, has once again asserted his status as the most handsomely endowed among his bandmates, reaffirming his self-proclaimed title of "World Wide Handsome." The 33-year-old singer, whose real name is Kim Seokjin, believes that while his fellow performers Jimin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, V, and Jung Kook are all undeniably good-looking, he stands out in the realm of physical appearance. He shared with Rolling Stone magazine, "I guess I got lucky. I do think I’m more good-looking than the other members. Even though everyone is very handsome. I should have at least one thing I’m best at in the group."

As the oldest member of the group, Jin acknowledges that he may not "move quite as well" as his younger bandmates but pushes himself to work harder, especially when the dance routines become increasingly challenging. He explained, "I guess it’s always physically taxing. While it’s true that the same moves can feel a bit more difficult now, that’s just my burden to bear. For audiences, I need to display myself at top form. So, I’ve got to work harder.”

To further elaborate on his struggles with age and physical abilities, Jin shared a humorous anecdote about how his younger bandmates had not fully appreciated the challenges of getting older until they experienced them themselves. He said, "Let me tell you what a fellow member told me once. He said, 'Jin, if you’re having trouble, you can try harder and overcome it!' And he’s about two or three years younger than me. He came back to me after two or three years and said, 'Wow, this is how bad you felt at this age? I had no idea.'"

Despite his status as the eldest member, Jin insists that his bandmates do not treat him differently and that he does not act like the oldest in the group. He said, "I am the eldest, but within the team, the members don’t really … treat me like the eldest? Is that weird to say? I guess they don’t think of me as the eldest. Nor do I act like it." However, he does appreciate when his bandmates treat him comfortably and call him "brother," which he finds endearing. He added with a laugh, "I don’t like it when they get overly casual, like when they slap my butt. That’s my least favorite part."

Overall, Jin's candidness and humor add depth to his personality and showcase his genuine connection with his bandmates. His dedication to pushing himself physically and mentally despite his age shows a true dedication to his craft and his love for performing for his fans.
