"It's a profound closure of a significant chapter," Kris Jenner said with a heavy heart. She disclosed a health update to her daughters and her partner, Corey Gamble, during a particularly emotional episode of the fifth season of 'The Kardashians.' As the family vacationed in Aspen, Colorado, the mother-manager broke the news that her doctors had recommended surgery.

"I need to share something with you all... I visited the doctor for a scan," Kris told her family, her voice trembling as tears streamed down her face. "The doctors discovered... and this is just so upsetting... a cyst and a small tumor on my ovary."

She continued, her voice filled with emotion, "Dr. A has advised that I need to have my ovaries removed. It's hard for me because these ovaries have been integral to your births and growths within my womb. They hold a sacred place in my heart."

Kim, in a private moment, confessed that she felt profoundly sorrowful for her mother, unable to fathom the turmoil and fear Kris must be enduring in the face of such news.

"Listen, if I could survive a hip replacement, I can handle this too," Kris declared with determination. "I'm not fearful of the anesthesia or Dr. A, who is the finest in her field. But when it's time to go under the knife... it becomes so real and personal."

As Khloé summoned Kourtney Kardashian on the phone, Kris relayed the news to her eldest daughter. In a confessional, Kourtney spoke of empathy, understanding that her mother was likely feeling a profound loss.

"It's a woman's essence, and while it doesn't define who she is or her experiences, I would still feel a deep sense of sentimentality for what it has nurtured," Kourtney said.

Kris wept throughout the conversation, sharing that it was a poignant reminder of her advancing age and the closure of a significant chapter in her life. "It truly feels like a whole era has come to an end," she said sorrowfully.

New episodes of 'The Kardashians' premiere on Hulu every Thursday.
