Megan Thee Stallion has been crowned the Mental Health Champion of the Year by The Trevor Project. The Grammy-winning sensation has been chosen to receive this prestigious accolade in recognition of her unwavering advocacy and steadfast commitment to elevating mental health awareness among BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQ+ communities. According to The Trevor Project, the annual award "honors influential public figures who leverage their voices to combat stigma, drive cultural change, and champion the mental well-being of LGBTQ+ youth."

Megan joins an illustrious list of past honorees, including Dua Lipa, Dylan Mulvaney, Janelle Monáe, and Lil Nas X, becoming the fifth luminary to bask in this spotlight. She is the visionary behind the Pete & Thomas Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in memory of her late parents. The foundation is dedicated to empowering women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities through initiatives centered on education, housing, health, and wellness, both in Houston and globally.

Megan also unveiled a free wellness hub, BadBitchesHaveBadDaysToo.com, crafted to amplify mental health awareness and furnish those in need with resources, directories, and LGBTQ+ community helplines. The website features therapy directories, mental health organizations, and crisis hotlines (including The Trevor Project's own lifeline).

Highlights of her advocacy endeavors include Megan's collaboration with the California Department of Public Health on the "Never A Bother" youth suicide prevention campaign, where she shared her personal mental health journey. She also joined forces with the Ad Council’s "Seize the Awkward" campaign, urging young people to engage in open dialogues about mental health. Moreover, Megan previously headlined Los Angeles Pride, using her platform to vehemently speak out against homophobia in the music industry.

"My mission has always been to harness my platform to dismantle stigmas surrounding mental health and provide accessible resources for those seeking safe havens for candid and heartfelt conversations," Megan stated. "Mental health affects us all, so it's crucial to lead with love and empathy. I'm deeply grateful for organizations like The Trevor Project that are tirelessly working to raise awareness and support our LGBTQ+ youth in impactful ways."

Jaymes Black, CEO of The Trevor Project, lauded Megan, saying, "Megan Thee Stallion is a mental health champion in every conceivable way. Her unfiltered honesty, fearless advocacy, and profound love for her community render her an extraordinary role model—especially for Black LGBTQ+ youth, who confront some of the highest rates of discrimination, mental health struggles, and suicide risks. Megan's activism transcends mere words; she constructs tangible, real-world resources for vulnerable communities that are all too often neglected or left behind. As a queer Black individual, I yearn for the presence of someone like Megan to have looked up to during my formative years."
