Lizzo is pulling no punches when it comes to spilling the tea on the 2025 Met Gala. The powerhouse vocalist behind "Truth Hurts," who graced the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Benefit in New York City on May 5, dished out a behind-the-scenes revelation about how celebs often secure their after-party invites once inside the glitzy affair.
"Typically, your publicist is engaging in hush-hush negotiations with other publicists," Lizzo revealed in a TikTok Live session on May 6, "making all the magic happen behind the scenes."
However, this year, the Grammy-award winner found herself navigating the social landscape solo—well, almost. She had her buddy and fellow musician Kaytranada by her side. "I was clueless about any parties," she continued. "But fate had it that I ended up sitting beside Kaytranada, who was DJing all three after-parties. So, I thought, 'I'll just tag along to wherever he's spinning.'"
Dressed to kill in a bespoke black-and-white Christian Siriano gown, accessorized with a cigarette holder, Smiling Rocks haute couture jewelry, and a bombshell blonde do, Lizzo also played her cards right with one of the night's co-chairs, A$AP Rocky, who was hosting his own after-party. "I heard whispers about his bash and I casually asked, 'Hey, any chance I could crash your party?' He casually replied, 'You're good, just stroll in.' I was like, 'Okay, but I'm sweating bullets thinking I might get rejected at the door,'" she recounted.
She added with a chuckle, "But yeah, you just blend in, chat up people, and ask around."
Yet, after-party secrets weren't the only curtains Lizzo lifted on fashion's most anticipated night. She also offered an inside scoop on what transpired during the benefit gala itself.
