Olivia Rodrigo has officially unveiled her eagerly anticipated third album, "You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love." The 23-year-old pop superstar shared the news on social media Thursday morning, accompanied by the album cover that features Rodrigo in a baby pink dress, swing upside down. She's been hinting at her follow-up to her 2023 album, Guts — which earned her a Grammy nomination for album of the year — for weeks, and now she confirms that it will finally be released on June 12th.

"My third album 'You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' is out June 12th," the singer wrote in her social media post. "I am so proud of this record and I can't wait for you to hear it."
In March, a purple mural appeared in Los Angeles with "OR" painted on the wall against her signature color for the last two albums. Her official fanbase social media accounts posted videos with tags like "#OliviaIsComing" and "#OR3." The wall was then painted a shade of pink, matching the dress on Rodrigo's album cover, with the word "love" painted atop, signaling her shift in color scheme for the upcoming album.
Rodrigo cleared her Instagram feed, making the album announcement her only post, and she changed her profile photo to a doll in a pink dress. She posted a story linking to pre-orders over a tweet that read, "He thought desire came without inherent suffering! He mad!!!" Signed pre-orders of the album available on her site had already sold out in under an hour.
It remains to be seen if a tour or performances will be announced for the new album; Rodrigo isn't currently slated to headline any of the major summer festivals.
