Will Smith made a startling confession about passing up a pivotal role in a blockbuster that could have dramatically transformed his career trajectory. The actor, who already boasts an extensive list of iconic films he declined, including "The Matrix" and "Django Unchained," disclosed that he was also presented with the opportunity to star in Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed "Inception."

During his visit to the radio station Kiss Xtra, via Huffpost, the "Aladdin" star unveiled, "I don't believe I've ever publicly disclosed this, but I'm going to share it now because we're all opening up to each other in this conversation." He further elaborated, "Chris Nolan approached me first with 'Inception,' but I didn't grasp it. I've never vocalized that before. Reflecting on it now, those films that delve into alternate realities often don't pitch well. Nevertheless, they still leave a sting."

Earlier revelations by The Hollywood Reporter, months after the Oscar-winning film's release, hinted at the potential involvement of the "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor in "Inception." Sources at the time disclosed that Brad Pitt was Nolan's initial top choice, but he didn't initially commit to the project. Subsequently, Smith was considered for the leading role, yet he too declined the offer. Leonardo DiCaprio eventually signed on and went on to achieve one of his biggest cinematic triumphs.

As of now, the Grammy Award-winner is poised to embark on his maiden headlining tour, the "Based on a True Story Tour," which will commence on June 25 at the Mawazine Music Festival in Rabat, Morocco. Meanwhile, Nolan is engrossed in directing another potential blockbuster, "The Odyssey," slated for release on July 17, 2026.
