As an enraged mob rises up against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba find themselves compelled to unite one final time. Their unbreakable bond now stands as the pivot upon which their futures rest. To effect change within themselves and the entire realm of Oz, they must truly see each other with honesty and empathy. Cynthia Erivo stars as Elphaba Thropp, the green-skinned young woman who evolves into the Wicked Witch. Ariana Grande co-stars as Glinda, joined by a stellar cast including Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, and Jeff Goldblum as the iconic Wizard of Oz. Sharon D. Clarke lends her voice to Dulcibear, Elphaba's cherished childhood nanny. This appears to be a grandiose and thrilling conclusion to the tale of these two friends and Oz, especially with Dorothy's impending arrival. Let's hope it lives up to the immense anticipation! So far, it looks nothing short of spectacular.

"You're the only friend I ever had..." The climactic chapter of the untold story of Oz's witches begins with Elphaba and Glinda estranged, each grappling with the repercussions of their choices. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now vilified as The Wicked Witch of the West, resides in exile, concealed within the Ozian forest. She continues her relentless battle for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately strives to uncover the truth about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) that she alone knows. Meanwhile, Glinda has transformed into the radiant emblem of Goodness for all of Oz, residing in the palatial splendor of Emerald City and reveling in the adulation and perks of fame.

However, under the guidance of Madame Morrible (Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is tasked with serving as an effervescent beacon of comfort to all of Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under The Wizard's reign. Wicked: For Good, also known as Wicked: Part Two, is helmed by the talented American filmmaker Jon M. Chu, whose credits include Step Up 2: The Streets, The LXD, Step Up 3D, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Jem and the Holograms, Now You See Me 2, Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, and the first Wicked movie. The screenplay is penned by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, adapted from Holzman and Stephen Schwartz's stage musical Wicked, which is based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Produced by Marc Platt and David Stone (of the Broadway musical), Universal Pictures will release Chu's sequel Wicked: For Good in theaters everywhere starting November 21st, 2025, just before Thanksgiving this fall.
