Marvel has unveiled a sneak peek at Thor's triumphant return in the eagerly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. The trailer, now available below, focuses on the God of Thunder (played by Chris Hemsworth), echoing the equally emotional preview of Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) comeback. In the trailer, Thor is shown with his daughter (India Rose Hemsworth) and prays to his father for protection before engaging in a battle with Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) so that he can safely return home to her. "Lend me the strength of the all-fathers so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her—not as a warrior, but as warmth, to teach her not battle, but stillness, the kind I never knew," he says.
The Thor footage has been circulating online for days, having leaked from theatrical preview screenings. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared on Instagram: "When even a god has to pray for strength." This marks RDJ's return to Marvel after famously portraying Tony Stark/Iron Man in numerous MCU films. In Doomsday, however, he takes on the role of the classic villain Doctor Doom. Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release in theaters on December 18, 2026.
